Purple Hybrid Mattress Video Review
Purple Hybrids feature purple detailing throughout their beds, which is a nice touch for those who are passionate about the color. The details in the cover give it a premium look, and you can tell it’s a bit more heavy-duty than the flagship Purple mattress. The main thing people want to know about this mattress is what does the Purple feel like?
It’s quite different than the innerspring mattress in Grandma’s guest room, and I will tell you that. It’s a new concept for a bed that I think ended up working in the company’s favor. Who Owns Purple Mattress
Purple Hybrid mattress firmness, feel and feel
Regardless of the model you get, the Purple Hybrid mattresses are soft and airy without feeling like foam. Feel the squishy, squared shapes underneath the mattress by running your fingers along its center.
It is not noticeable when you lay down. You just feel like you’re floating over your back or on a hammock. However, the thick layer made of pocketed coils makes it extremely supportive.
Purple Hybrid 2 feels simultaneously supportive and pressure-relieving. However, it has a slightly firmer profile. Although the soft squares won’t press into your hips or shoulders when you lie on your back, my spine and back feel reinforced by the Hyper-Elastic Polymer layer. I find it a little firmer than my Original Purple mattress.
If you aren’t open to exploring new ways of bedding but are curious about the Purple Hybrid then you may want to consider other options. If you are open to the idea of a mattress that relieves pressure from your hips, shoulders, and back, while also making you feel light, this might be a good choice for you. Who Owns Purple Mattress
Purple Hybrid Premier
The brand’s two hybrid beds at the top of the range have the same Purple feel. However they are slightly more softened by thicker layers hyper elastic polymer.
I believe they are both medium-firms, or approximately a 6, on the firmness scale. Who Owns Purple Mattress
Purple Hybrid mattress construction
The Purple Hybrid measures approximately 11 inches high and has four layers. Below is a breakdown of each layer of the Purple Hybrid bed. This will give you an idea about what makes Purple and Purple.
A thin slab of basic Foam about an inch in thickness, which supports the thick pocketed coil above.
A thick system of 7.5-inch pocketed coils, individually wrapped with fabric to help limit motion transfer across the mattress. It is what makes this mattress so comfortable.
A thin half inch of foam to help neutralize any sensations caused by the pockets in the bed’s base.
The Hyper Elastic Polymer brand uses covers that are approximately 2 inches in height. These are laid out in a grid-like pattern. This is the layer that makes it different from the Purple Hybrids. Each mattress has an individual thickness. It is soft, bouncy and provides the majority of the Purple’s comfort.
To give the sides more support and stability, dense foam slabs are placed around the edges.
Purple’s StretchMax “StretchMax” covers are layered on top. They are, just like their name, extra-stretchy. It feels more breathable and breathable then a standard mattress cover. Who Owns Purple Mattress
Purple Hybrid Premier mattress layers
The brand’s top-tier mattresses are the Purple Hybrid Premier and Purple Hybrid Premier. Really, the only major differences in construction are the top layers.
Purple 3 has 3inches of Hyper Elastic Polymer at the top. Purple 4 has 4inches.
It doesn’t make a huge difference in feel, but they are softer than the Purple Hybrid. Who Owns Purple Mattress
Motion isolation is not something that innerspring beds are known for, but the Purple Hybrid has pocketsed coils and special material that make it possible.
I believe it’s quite effective at isolating motion even though it’s a super-bouncy mattress.
It is almost silent and your partner will not be able hear you. Who Owns Purple Mattress
Purple Hybrid mattresses have firm foam at the edges that will hold you up if your body tends to lean towards the sides of the bed.
So, I give this mattress the enthusiastic thumbs up for edge support.
The other benefit of the Purple Grid besides bouncy comfort would have to be its temperature-regulating abilities. The Purple Grid is not made with any cooling material. Instead, its natural, breathable design makes it one the best mattresses for allowing airflow.
It doesn’t retain heat the way memory foam or polyfoam might. This makes it appealing to hot sleeping people like me who want additional cooling. It’s not cold to the touch, but I really don’t feel hot while sleeping on the Purple. Who Owns Purple Mattress

No matter your body type, no matter if you are 105 lbs or 250 lbs, the Purple Hybrid Beds will suit you perfectly.
The Purple Hybrid mattresses are great for all body types because they are more supportive than typical foam beds like Nectar or Casper. They have that layer of steel pocketed coils on the bottom, and if you think about it, steel is much more durable than foam. The difference in how this mattress will hold up over time compared to an all-foam bed will be especially noticeable over the course of 10 years. Who Owns Purple Mattress
