Purple Hybrid mattresses offer the same Purple feel but are more durable and supportive. Twin Purple Mattress
From the company that gave you Hyper-Elastic Polymer and the original Purple bed comes the big-and-sturdy Purple Hybrid mattresses. Purple offers three varieties of hybrid beds. These are appropriately named Purple Hybrid Premier 3 to Purple Hybrid Premier 4. Below I will explain why you might prefer one to the other and how they compare with the rest. You will find out if Purple Hybrid mattresses are right for you.
Purple Hybrid (also known as the Purple 2) is the thinnest option of hybrids and measures only 11 inches thick. It is firmer than any of the other models, and it is great for stomach or back sleepers. With that said, it’s the most affordable Purple Hybrid mattress.
The Purple Hybrid Premier, also known as Purple 3 is 12 in thick and features a thicker Hyperelastic Polymer comfort coating. This makes it feel a bit softer and lands around a medium to medium-firm on the scale. Twin Purple Mattress
Purple Hybrid Premier 4 Purple Hybrid bed is the most costly, but it is thicker than all Purple hybrid beds and provides extra support. It has a medium-firm profile and would be suitable for all body types, just like the Purple Hybrid Premier 3.
Purple Hybrid Mattress Video Review
Purple Hybrids include purple details throughout the bed. This is a wonderful addition for anyone who loves the color. It’s more luxurious than the Purple Hybrid mattress, thanks to the premium cover. People want to know what the Purple feels like.
It’s certainly not the same innerspring mattress that Grandma used in her guest room. It’s an innovative concept for a mattress that I think worked in the company’s favor. Twin Purple Mattress
Purple Hybrid mattress firmness/feel
Purple Hybrid beds are soft, airy and don’t feel like foam no matter what model they come in. If you press your finger on the center of the mattress, the squishy pieces will bend and change underneath.
It is not noticeable when you lay down. You just feel like you’re floating over your back or on a hammock. Though, it’s also really supportive because of the thick layer of pocketed coils, which I’ll explain more below.
Purple Hybrid 2 simultaneously relieves pressure and supports, but has a slightly firmer profile. This Purple Hybrid 2 is around a medium-firm or 7 out 10 on my firmness scale. Although the soft squares won’t press into your hips or shoulders when you lie on your back, my spine and back feel reinforced by the Hyper-Elastic Polymer layer. I feel it is a touch firmer that the Original Purple.
You might be interested in the Purple Hybrid, but aren’t ready to try out new bedding options. You might be happy with the benefits of the Purple Hybrid if you are open-minded to a mattress feeling that reduces pressure on your hips and shoulders while making you feel lighter. Twin Purple Mattress
Purple Hybrid Premier
The brand’s two upper-level hybrid beds have the same signature Purple feel, but they have a slightly softer profile because of their thicker layers of Hyper-Elastic Polymer.
I think they both land in between a medium to medium-firm, or around a 6 on the firmness scale. Twin Purple Mattress
Construction of Purple Hybrid mattresses
The Purple Hybrid has four layers and is approximately 11 inches high. Below is a breakdown of each layer of the Purple Hybrid bed. This will give you an idea about what makes Purple and Purple.
A thin slab of basic Foam about an inch in thickness, which supports the thick pocketed coil above.
The mattress is made up of thick pockets of coils measuring 7.5 inches in diameter, each wrapped in fabric to limit movement transfer. It’s what makes this mattress so supportive.
To neutralize the feeling of the coils within the foundation of the bed, add a thin 1/2 inch of foam.
The Hyper-Elastic polymer of the brand is 2 inches thick. It’s laid out in a grid structure. This is the primary layer that distinguishes it from the other two Purple Hybrid mattresses — each mattress has a different thickness of this layer. It is soft, bouncy, and provides the most comfort of the Purple.
The dense foam slabs that surround the edges make the sides more sturdy and supportive.
Purple’s StretchMax Cover is on the top. It’s very stretchy, just as its name suggests. I think it feels more breathable than your typical mattress cover and compare the feel more to an athletic antisweat undergarment than a soft cotton top. Twin Purple Mattress
Purple Hybrid Premier mattress layers
Purple Hybrid Premier is the brand’s highest-end mattress option. Really, the only major differences in construction are the top layers.
Purple 3 has a layer 3 in. of Hyper-Elastic Polymer at top; Purple 4 has 4 in.
Although they feel the same, it does not make a big difference in their feel. Twin Purple Mattress
Motion isolation isn’t usually an innerspring bed’s forte, but with the pocketed coils and special material you find in the Purple Hybrid, it’s a different story.
It seems to be quite capable of isolating motion, even though it is very bouncy.
It makes almost no noise and you won’t be able to see your partner on the other side. Twin Purple Mattress
Purple Hybrid mattresses have firm foam at the edges that will hold you up if your body tends to lean towards the sides of the bed.
This mattress has edge support capabilities that I am happy to give two thumbs up.
The other benefit of the Purple Grid besides bouncy comfort would have to be its temperature-regulating abilities. The Purple Grid has a natural breathable structure that allows for airflow.
It doesn’t retain heat as memory foam and poly foam might. This makes it attractive to hot sleepers such as me, who require additional cooling. The Purple is not cold to my skin, but it doesn’t make me feel hot. Twin Purple Mattress
