Purple Hybrid Mattress delivers the same Purple feel with a stronger and more supportive construction. Tony Pearce Purple Mattress
Purple Hybrid mattresses come from the same company that made Hyper-Elastic Pomer and the original Purple bed. Purple actually offers three hybrid beds: the Purple Hybrid and the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 & 4. Below, I’ll dive into the different reasons why you may want one over the other, and if they’re worth their price in general. Find out if a Purple Hybrid Mattress is right for you.
Purple Hybrid, also called the Purple 2, is the thinnest hybrid option and measures in at 11 inches. It’s firmer than the other models and is suitable for stomach and back sleepers. With that said, it’s the most affordable Purple Hybrid mattress.
The Purple Hybrid Premier, also known as Purple 3 is 12 in thick and features a thicker Hyperelastic Polymer comfort coating. This makes it feel a bit softer and lands around a medium to medium-firm on the scale. Tony Pearce Purple Mattress
The Purple Hybrid Premier 4 is the most expensive of the Purple hybrid beds, but it’s a whopping 13 inches thick and is extra supportive. The Purple Hybrid Premier 4 has a medium to firm profile, which we believe would suit most body types.
Purple Hybrid Mattress Video Review
Purple Hybrids have purple detailing all over the bed. It’s a great choice for someone who is passionate about the color. The cover has premium details that give it a more luxurious look than the Purple flagship mattress. People want to know what the Purple feels like.
It’s certainly not the same innerspring mattress that Grandma used in her guest room. This bed is an entirely new concept that I believe worked well for the company. Tony Pearce Purple Mattress
Purple Hybrid mattress firmness & Feel
Purple Hybrid mattresses, regardless of which model you buy, are soft and airy. They don’t feel like foam. You can feel the soft, squishy corners of the mattress bend and transform underneath if you place your hand on the middle.
It isn’t noticeable when you lie down. Instead, you feel buoyant and like you are floating on your back or in a hammock. Though, it’s also really supportive because of the thick layer of pocketed coils, which I’ll explain more below.
The Purple Hybrid 2 simultaneously feels pressure-relieving and supportive, while maintaining a slightly firmer profile; I think it’s around a medium-firm, or 7 out of 10 on the firmness scale. The soft squares of the Purple Hybrid 2 don’t push against your hips and shoulders like a regular firm bed. However, I feel my back and spine are reinforced by Hyper-ElasticPolymer. I think it’s a tad bit firmer than the Original Purple mattress.
If you aren’t open to exploring new ways of bedding but are curious about the Purple Hybrid then you may want to consider other options. The Purple Hybrid might be for you if it offers a mattress feel that is both supportive and light on the hips, shoulders and back. Tony Pearce Purple Mattress
Purple Hybrid Premier
Although they share the brand’s signature Purple feel, the two higher-level hybrid beds are slightly different because they contain thicker layers Hyper-Elastic Polymer.
They are between medium and medium-firm. I would say they’re about 6 on the firmness spectrum. Tony Pearce Purple Mattress
Purple Hybrid mattress construction
The Purple Hybrid measures approximately 11 inches high and has four layers. Here is a basic breakdown of the layers in the Purple Hybrid so that you can get an understanding of what makes Purple, Purple.
A thin layer of basic foam, about one-inch thick, that supports the thick pocketed coil layers above.
A thick system of 7.5-inch pocketed coils, individually wrapped with fabric to help limit motion transfer across the mattress. It is the foundation of this mattress’s support.
A thin layer of foam about a quarter inch thick to neutralize the effect of the mattress’s foundation.
The Hyper Elastic Polymer brand uses covers that are approximately 2 inches in height. These are laid out in a grid-like pattern. This is the layer that makes it different from the Purple Hybrids. Each mattress has an individual thickness. It’s bouncy, squishy, soft and provides most of the Purple’s comfort.
Surrounding the edges are dense foam slabs to make the sides feel more supportive and sturdy.
Purple’s StretchMax “StretchMax” covers are layered on top. They are, just like their name, extra-stretchy. It is more breathable that a typical mattress cover. I liken it more to an antisweat sports undergarment rather than a soft top made of cotton. Tony Pearce Purple Mattress
Purple Hybrid Premier mattress layers
Two Purple Hybrid Premier mattresses are the best-selling mattress options. The only difference in construction is the top layers.
Purple 3 has 3inches of Hyper Elastic Polymer at the top. Purple 4 has 4inches.
The Purple Hybrid is softer than these, although they don’t feel any different. Tony Pearce Purple Mattress
Motion isolation is not a common feature of innerspring beds, but the Purple Hybrid offers a different approach with its pocketed coils.
It’s quite good at isolating movements, even though the bed is super-bouncy.
It virtually makes no noise, and you’ll hardly be able to notice your partner moving around on the other side. Tony Pearce Purple Mattress
The Purple Hybrid mattresses are constructed with firm foam around the edges to hold your body up more firmly if you tend to creep towards the side of the bed during the night.
Therefore, I give this mattress my enthusiastic thumbs-up for its edge support capabilities.
The other benefit of the Purple Grid besides bouncy comfort would have to be its temperature-regulating abilities. It’s not designed with any fancy cooling material, but instead, the Purple Grid’s natural breathable design makes it one of the best mattresses for allowing airflow.
It doesn’t retain heat the way memory foam or polyfoam might. This makes it appealing to hot sleeping people like me who want additional cooling. The Purple is not cold to my skin, but it doesn’t make me feel hot. Tony Pearce Purple Mattress
Purple Hybrid’s perfect sleeping positions and body types
You wouldn’t expect every size shirt to fit at your local clothing store.
You have so many options. The best mattress for you will depend on your body type and the position that you prefer to sleep in. Tony Pearce Purple Mattress
You can sleep in one of three primary positions: stomach, side, back or any combination. The Purple Hybrid is best for stomach and back sleepers.
If you are a side sleeper, the Purple Hybrid mattress would be a good choice. They are a little more soft and pressure-relieving that the standard hybrid model, which will make them more beneficial for your sides and shoulders. Tony Pearce Purple Mattress
Type of body
Regardless of your body type, whether you weigh 105 pounds or 250 pounds, I think the Purple Hybrid beds will be perfectly suitable for you.
Purple Hybrid mattresses can be used by all body types as they are more supportive of traditional foam beds like Casper or Nectar. They have that layer of steel pocketed coils on the bottom, and if you think about it, steel is much more durable than foam. The difference in how this mattress will hold up over time compared to an all-foam bed will be especially noticeable over the course of 10 years. Tony Pearce Purple Mattress
The Purple Hybrid costs more than the original Purple. It isn’t the best option for people trying to save as much money as possible when buying a new bed. If you’re looking for a way to improve your night’s rest, however, you might consider it a reasonable price.
The standard Purple Hybrid mattress is available in sizes from twin XL to California king. Prices start at $1299 and go up until $1,899. Although they don’t often offer discounts on this bed, they might have a promotion that includes free sheets and pillows.
Purple Hybrid mattresses are made with metal coils and foam that provide support and softness.
