The Purple® Mattress – Our Purple Mattress Hybrid Review 2021

Purple Hybrid mattresses have the same Purple feel, but with a more sturdy and supportive construction. The Purple® Mattress

Purple Hybrid mattresses are made by the same company who created Hyper-Elastic polymer and the original Purple mattress. In fact, Purple offers three different hybrid beds, appropriately named the Purple Hybrid , and the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 and 4 . Below I will discuss the reasons you might choose one over another and whether they are worth the price. Stick around to find out if a Purple Hybrid mattress is the right choice for you.

Purple Hybrid, also known by the Purple 2, measures 11 inches in thickness. It’s firmer than the other models and is suitable for stomach and back sleepers. With that said, it’s the most affordable Purple Hybrid mattress.

The Purple Hybrid Premier, also known as Purple 3 is 12 in thick and features a thicker Hyperelastic Polymer comfort coating. It feels a little softer and is a medium-firm weight. The Purple® Mattress

Purple Hybrid Premier 4 Purple Hybrid hybrid bed is the most expensive, but it is 13 inches thicker and more supportive than the others. It has a medium-firm profile and would be suitable for all body types, just like the Purple Hybrid Premier 3.

First impressions

Purple Hybrids have purple detailing all over the bed. It’s a great choice for someone who is passionate about the color. The cover has premium details that give it a more luxurious look than the Purple flagship mattress. The main thing people want to know about this mattress is what does the Purple feel like?

It is completely different from Grandma’s innerspring mattress, I’ll be honest. It’s a completely new design for a bed and it ended up working in the company’s favor. The Purple® Mattress

Purple Hybrid mattress firmness & Feel

Purple Hybrid mattress are soft and comfortable, no matter what model you purchase. When you run your hand down the center of the mattress, you can feel the squishy squares bend and morph underneath.

It isn’t noticeable when you lie down. Instead, you feel buoyant and like you are floating on your back or in a hammock. The thick layer of pocketsed coils underneath makes it very supportive.

Purple Hybrid 2 simultaneously relieves pressure and supports, but has a slightly firmer profile. This Purple Hybrid 2 is around a medium-firm or 7 out 10 on my firmness scale. The soft squares don’t push into your hips and shoulders when you’re on your side like your typical firm bed, but my back and spine feel very reinforced above the bed’s Hyper-Elastic Polymer layer. It’s firmer than the Original Purple mattress.

You might be interested in the Purple Hybrid, but aren’t ready to try out new bedding options. It might appeal to you if the mattress feels like it is releasing pressure from your hips, shoulders, back and making you feel lighter. The Purple® Mattress

Purple Hybrid Premier

Although they share the brand’s signature Purple feel, the two higher-level hybrid beds are slightly different because they contain thicker layers Hyper-Elastic Polymer.

Both of them fall in the middle to mid-firm range, or roughly a 6 on our firmness scale. The Purple® Mattress

Purple Hybrid Mattress Construction

The Purple® MattressThe Purple Hybrid comes in three different models, each with a different thickness of the Purple Grid gel layer.

The Purple Hybrid is four layers thick and around 11 inches tall. Here’s a simple breakdown of the bed’s layers so you get an idea of what makes Purple, Purple:

A thin slab of basic foam about an inch thick, which supports the thick pocketed coil layer above.

The mattress is made up of thick pockets of coils measuring 7.5 inches in diameter, each wrapped in fabric to limit movement transfer. This is the reason this mattress is so supportive.

A thin layer of foam about a quarter inch thick to neutralize the effect of the mattress’s foundation.

The Hyper-Elastic polymer of the brand is 2 inches thick. It’s laid out in a grid structure. This is the primary layer that distinguishes it from the other two Purple Hybrid mattresses — each mattress has a different thickness of this layer. It’s bouncy, squishy, soft and provides most of the Purple’s comfort.

Dense foam slabs surround the edges to give the sides a more solid and stable feel.

On top is the Purple’s “StretchMax” cover, and just like the name implies, it’s extra-stretchy. It’s more breathable than any standard mattress cover. You can compare the feel to a soft cotton top or an athletic antisweat shirt. The Purple® Mattress

Purple Hybrid Premier mattress layers

Purple Hybrid Premier is the brand’s highest-end mattress option. Only the top layers make up the main difference in construction.

Purple 3 has 3″ of Hyper-Elastic polymer at the top and Purple 4 has 4″.

It doesn’t make a huge difference in feel, but they are softer than the Purple Hybrid. The Purple® Mattress

Motion isolation

Although motion isolation is not usually an innerspring bed’s strength, the Purple Hybrid’s pocketed coils, special material, and other features make it a unique story.

I believe it’s quite effective at isolating motion even though it’s a super-bouncy mattress.

It is almost silent and your partner will not be able hear you. The Purple® Mattress

Edge support

Purple Hybrid mattresses include firm foam on the edges. If you are prone to slipping during the night, the Purple Hybrid will keep you more secure.

Therefore, I give this mattress my enthusiastic thumbs-up for its edge support capabilities.

Temperature

The other benefit of the Purple Grid besides bouncy comfort would have to be its temperature-regulating abilities. The Purple Grid doesn’t have any cooling materials, but its natural breathable design makes them one of the best mattresses to allow airflow.

It doesn’t retain heat as memory foam and poly foam might. This makes it attractive to hot sleepers such as me, who require additional cooling. Although it’s not cold, I don’t feel too hot when I sleep on the Purple. The Purple® Mattress

Purple Hybrid’s best sleeping positions and body types

You wouldn’t expect every size shirt to fit at your local clothing store.

Because there are so many choices, it is important to choose carefully. Generally, your perfect mattress comes down to your body type and your favorite position to sleep in. The Purple® Mattress

Position

The primary sleeping positions are side, stomach, back or a combination of them all. Purple Hybrids will be most suitable for stomach and back sleepers.

The Purple Premier mattress is the best option for side sleepers. These mattresses are slightly softer and less pressure-relieving than standard hybrid models, which will benefit your shoulders and sides more. The Purple® Mattress

Body type

The Purple Hybrid beds are perfect for anyone, regardless of their body type.

The Purple Hybrid mattresses are great for all body types because they are more supportive than typical foam beds like Nectar or Casper. They have that layer of steel pocketed coils on the bottom, and if you think about it, steel is much more durable than foam. It will be noticeable how the mattress will perform over the years compared with an all foam mattress. The Purple® Mattress

Price

The Purple Hybrid bed is more expensive than the original Purple. This is not a good option for those who want to spend as little money as possible on a new mattress. The Purple Hybrid is a good choice if your goal is to invest in your evening’s sleep.

Purple Hybrid mattresses are available from twin XL up to California king. Prices start from $1,299 and can go all the way to $1.899. Although they don’t often offer discounts on this bed, they might have a promotion that includes free sheets and pillows.

Purple Hybrid mattresses are made with metal coils and foam that provide support and softness.

The Purple Mattress – Our Purple Mattress Hybrid Review 2021

Purple Hybrid mattresses offer the same Purple feel but are more durable and supportive. The Purple Mattress

Purple Hybrid Mattresses are made by the same company as Hyper-Elastic Polyester and the original Purple Bed. Purple actually has three types of hybrid beds. They are appropriately named the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 or 4 and the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 or 4. Below I will explain why you might prefer one to the other and how they compare with the rest. Stick around to find out if a Purple Hybrid mattress is the right choice for you.

Purple Hybrid, also known by the Purple 2, measures 11 inches in thickness. It’s firmer than the other models and is suitable for stomach and back sleepers. It’s also the most affordable Purple Hybrid Mattress.

The Purple Hybrid Premier, also known as Purple 3 is 12 in thick and features a thicker Hyperelastic Polymer comfort coating. This makes it feel slightly softer, and it lands at a medium-firm to medium-firm level on the scale. The Purple Mattress

First impressions

Purple Hybrids include purple details throughout the bed. This is a wonderful addition for anyone who loves the color. It has a premium appearance thanks to the fine details on the cover. You can also tell that it is a bit heavier than the Purple flagship mattress. What does the Purple feel like?

It’s totally different from the innerspring mattress in Grandma’s guest room. It’s a new concept for a bed that I think ended up working in the company’s favor. The Purple Mattress

Purple Hybrid mattress firmness, feel and feel

Regardless of the model you get, the Purple Hybrid mattresses are soft and airy without feeling like foam. If you press your finger on the center of the mattress, the squishy pieces will bend and change underneath.

It’s not super noticeable when you’re laying down, it just feels buoyant like you’re floating on your back or laying on a hammock. The thick layer of pocketsed coils underneath makes it very supportive.

Purple Hybrid 2 feels simultaneously supportive and pressure-relieving. However, it has a slightly firmer profile. The soft squares don’t push into your hips and shoulders when you’re on your side like your typical firm bed, but my back and spine feel very reinforced above the bed’s Hyper-Elastic Polymer layer. I find it a little firmer than my Original Purple mattress.

The Purple Hybrid is a great option if you don’t want to experiment with other bedding styles. If you are open to the idea of a mattress that relieves pressure from your hips, shoulders, and back, while also making you feel light, this might be a good choice for you. The Purple Mattress

Purple Hybrid Premier

The brand’s two hybrid beds at the top of the range have the same Purple feel. However they are slightly more softened by thicker layers hyper elastic polymer.

They are between medium and medium-firm. I would say they’re about 6 on the firmness spectrum. The Purple Mattress

Construction of Purple Hybrid mattresses

The Purple MattressPurple Hybrid is available in three models with different Purple Grid gel layers.

The Purple Hybrid has 4 layers and measures around 11 inches high. Here’s a simple breakdown of the bed’s layers so you get an idea of what makes Purple, Purple:

A thin slab of basic foam about an inch thick, which supports the thick pocketed coil layer above.

A thick system of 7.5-inch pocketed coils, individually wrapped with fabric to help limit motion transfer across the mattress. It’s the main reason why this mattress is so supportive.

A thin half inch of foam to help neutralize any sensations caused by the pockets in the bed’s base.

Around 2 inches of the brand’s special Hyper-Elastic Polymer, laid out in a grid formation. This is the primary layer that distinguishes it from the other two Purple Hybrid mattresses — each mattress has a different thickness of this layer. It is soft, bouncy, and provides the most comfort of the Purple.

To make the sides more stable and sturdy, dense foam slabs are surrounded by the edges.

Purple’s StretchMax (or Extra-Stretchy) cover can be found on the top. It feels more breathable and breathable then a standard mattress cover. The Purple Mattress

Purple Hybrid Premier mattress layers

Purple Hybrid Premier is the brand’s highest-end mattress option. Really, the only major differences in construction are the top layers.

The Purple 3 has a 3-inch layer of Hyper-Elastic Polymer at the top, while Purple 4 has 4 inches.

While it doesn’t make a significant difference in feel, they are more soft than the Purple Hybrid. The Purple Mattress

Motion isolation

Motion isolation is not a common feature of innerspring beds, but the Purple Hybrid offers a different approach with its pocketed coils.

It is quite good at isolating movement, even though it is super-bouncy.

It is almost silent and your partner will not be able hear you. The Purple Mattress

Edge support

Purple Hybrid mattresses feature firm foam around the edges. This is to prevent you from slipping on the edges of the mattress.

As a result, I give edge support capabilities on this mattress two enthusiastic thumbs up.

Temperature

The other benefit of the Purple Grid besides bouncy comfort would have to be its temperature-regulating abilities. The Purple Grid is not made with any cooling material. Instead, its natural, breathable design makes it one the best mattresses for allowing airflow.

It doesn’t retain heat like memory foam or poly foam might, making it appealing to hot sleepers like me who need the additional cooling relief. Purple is not cold but it does not feel hot. The Purple Mattress

Purple Hybrid’s perfect sleeping positions and body types

You wouldn’t expect every size shirt to fit at your local clothing store.

This is especially true since there are so numerous options. Your preferred position and body type will determine the perfect mattress. The Purple Mattress

Position

There are three main sleeping positions: side, stomach or back. The Purple Hybrid is best for stomach and back sleepers.

If you’re a side sleeper and really want the Purple Hybrid, I’d opt for one of the Purple Premier mattresses. They are a little more soft and pressure-relieving that the standard hybrid model, which will make them more beneficial for your sides and shoulders. The Purple Mattress

Type of body

No matter what your body size, no matter how heavy or light, the Purple Hybrid bed will work for you.

Purple Hybrid beds are better for all types of bodies than regular foam beds like Casper, Nectar and Casper. They are made with steel pocketed coils that sit on top of the mattress. This makes them more durable than traditional foam beds. The difference in how this mattress will hold up over time compared to an all-foam bed will be especially noticeable over the course of 10 years. The Purple Mattress

Price

The Purple Hybrid is more costly than the original Purple and may not be the best choice for those looking to spend as low as possible on a bed. It’s possible that you will see the Purple Hybrid as a reasonable cost if you are looking to make an investment in your sleep.

Purple Hybrid mattresses come in sizes from twin-XL to California-king. The prices start at $1,299, and can go up to $1,899. The bed is not usually discounted, but there may be a promotion for free sheets or pillows.

Purple Hybrid Mattress has metal coils enclosed in foam to offer support, softness, and durability.
