Purple Hybrid mattresses offer the same Purple feel but are more durable and supportive. The Purple Bed – Queen Size Mattress
Purple Hybrid Mattresses are made by the same company as Hyper-Elastic Polyester and the original Purple Bed. Purple actually offers three hybrid beds: the Purple Hybrid and the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 & 4. Below I will explain why you might prefer one to the other and how they compare with the rest. Stick around to find out if a Purple Hybrid mattress is the right choice for you.
Purple Hybrid is also known as Purple 2 and is 11 inches thick. It’s firmer than the other models and is suitable for stomach and back sleepers. It’s also the most economical Purple Hybrid mattress.
The Purple Hybrid Premier (formerly Purple 3) is 12 inches in thickness with a thicker Hyper elastic Polymer comfort layer. This makes it feel a touch softer and it is around a medium-firm. The Purple Bed – Queen Size Mattress
The Purple Hybrid Premier 4 is the most expensive of the Purple hybrid beds, but it’s a whopping 13 inches thick and is extra supportive. The Purple Hybrid Premier 4 has a medium to firm profile, which we believe would suit most body types.
Purple Hybrid Mattress Video Review
Purple Hybrids include purple details throughout the bed. This is a wonderful addition for anyone who loves the color. Its premium appearance is due to the high-quality cover. What does the Purple feel like?
It is completely different from Grandma’s innerspring mattress, I’ll be honest. It’s an innovative concept for a mattress that I think worked in the company’s favor. The Purple Bed – Queen Size Mattress
Purple Hybrid mattress firmness & Feel
Purple Hybrid mattresses, regardless of which model you buy, are soft and airy. They don’t feel like foam. If you press your finger on the center of the mattress, the squishy pieces will bend and change underneath.
It isn’t noticeable when you lie down. Instead, you feel buoyant and like you are floating on your back or in a hammock. The thick layer pocketsed coils make it really supportive, which I’ll explain below.
Purple Hybrid 2 feels simultaneously supportive and pressure-relieving. However, it has a slightly firmer profile. While the soft squares aren’t pushed into your hips or shoulders if you lie sideways, they don’t feel like a typical firm mattress. However, my back and spine feel reinforced by the Hyper Elastic Polymer layer. I feel it is a touch firmer that the Original Purple.
You might be interested in the Purple Hybrid, but aren’t ready to try out new bedding options. You might be happy with the benefits of the Purple Hybrid if you are open-minded to a mattress feeling that reduces pressure on your hips and shoulders while making you feel lighter. Purple Hybrid Premier
The brand’s two upper-level hybrid beds have the same signature Purple feel, but they have a slightly softer profile because of their thicker layers of Hyper-Elastic Polymer.
They both fall between medium to medium-firm or about a 6 on my firmness scale. The Purple Bed – Queen Size Mattress
Purple Hybrid Mattress Construction
The Purple Hybrid is four layers thick and around 11 inches tall. Let’s take a look at the layers of this bed to get an idea of how Purple and Purple are made.
A thin slab of basic foam about an inch thick, which supports the thick pocketed coil layer above.
To limit motion transfer, the mattress features a thick system of 7.5-inch pocketsed coils that are individually wrapped with fabric. It’s what makes this mattress so supportive.
To neutralize the feeling of the coils within the foundation of the bed, add a thin 1/2 inch of foam.
The Hyper-Elastic polymer of the brand is 2 inches thick. It’s laid out in a grid structure. This is the main layer that differentiates it from the Purple Hybrid mattress. Each mattress has a different thickness. It provides most of Purple’s comfort.
Surrounding the edges are dense foam slabs to make the sides feel more supportive and sturdy.
The Purple’s StretchMax cover is atop, and it is, as the name suggests, extra-stretchy. It feels more breathable than traditional mattress covers. I compare it to an athletic antisweat top rather than a soft cotton one. The Purple Bed – Queen Size Mattress
Purple Hybrid Premier mattress layers
The brand’s top-tier mattresses are the Purple Hybrid Premier and Purple Hybrid Premier. Only the top layers make up the main difference in construction.
Purple 3 has 3inches of Hyper Elastic Polymer at the top. Purple 4 has 4inches.
While it doesn’t make a significant difference in feel, they are more soft than the Purple Hybrid. The Purple Bed – Queen Size Mattress
Motion isolation is not a common feature of innerspring beds, but the Purple Hybrid offers a different approach with its pocketed coils.
It is quite good at isolating movement, even though it is super-bouncy.
It is almost silent and your partner will not be able hear you. The Purple Bed – Queen Size Mattress
Purple Hybrid mattresses include firm foam on the edges. If you are prone to slipping during the night, the Purple Hybrid will keep you more secure.
As a result, I give edge support capabilities on this mattress two enthusiastic thumbs up.
The other benefit of the Purple Grid besides bouncy comfort would have to be its temperature-regulating abilities. The Purple Grid doesn’t have any cooling materials, but its natural breathable design makes them one of the best mattresses to allow airflow.
It doesn’t retain heat like memory foam or poly foam might, making it appealing to hot sleepers like me who need the additional cooling relief. The Purple is not cold to my skin, but it doesn’t make me feel hot. The Purple Bed – Queen Size Mattress
Purple Hybrid’s best sleeping positions and body types
You wouldn’t expect that you would fit into every size shirt at your favorite clothes store.
This is especially true since there are so numerous options. Your preference for a particular position and your body type are key factors in choosing the best mattress. The Purple Bed – Queen Size Mattress
There are three main sleeping positions: side, stomach or back. Purple Hybrids are best for stomach and back sleeping.
If you’re a side-sleeper and really want the Purple Hybrid I’d recommend one of the Purple Premier beds. They are a bit softer and more pressure-relieving than the standard hybrid model, which will be more of a benefit to your sides and shoulders. The Purple Bed – Queen Size Mattress
Regardless of your body type, whether you weigh 105 pounds or 250 pounds, I think the Purple Hybrid beds will be perfectly suitable for you.
Purple Hybrid mattresses work well for everyone because they offer more support than traditional foam beds such as Casper or Nectar. The mattress has a layer of steel-pocketed coils in the bottom. Steel is much more durable that foam. Over the next 10 years, you will see a significant difference in how this mattress holds up to time compared with an all-foam mattress. The Purple Bed – Queen Size Mattress
Purple Hybrids are more expensive than original Purples. They also tend to be less affordable for those who need to spend as little as possible on a brand new bed. You might find it reasonable if you want to invest in your nights of sleep.
Purple Hybrid mattresses come in sizes from twin-XL to California-king. Prices start at $1299 and go up until $1,899. The bed is not usually discounted, but there may be a promotion for free sheets or pillows.
Purple Hybrid mattresses have metal coils that are encased with foam for support and softness.
