Purple Hybrid mattresses have the same Purple feel, but with a more sturdy and supportive construction. Purple Mattress Warranty
The Purple Hybrid mattress is made by the same company that created Hyper-Elastic Polymer, the original Purple bed and the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 and 4. Purple offers three varieties of hybrid beds. These are appropriately named Purple Hybrid Premier 3 to Purple Hybrid Premier 4. Below, I’ll dive into the different reasons why you may want one over the other, and if they’re worth their price in general. Continue reading to learn if a Purple Hybrid is right for your needs.
Purple Hybrid is also known as Purple 2 and is 11 inches thick. It’s also firmer than the other two models and is ideal for back or stomach sleepers. It is also the most affordable Purple Hybrid model.
The Purple Hybrid Premier, also known as Purple 3 is 12 in thick and features a thicker Hyperelastic Polymer comfort coating. This makes it feel a touch softer and it is around a medium-firm. Purple Mattress Warranty
Purple Hybrid Premier 4 Purple Hybrid Hybrid is the most expensive Purple hybrid bed, but it’s also thicker (13 inches) and offers extra support. Like the Purple Hybrid Premier 3, it has a medium to medium-firm profile, and we think it would suit all body types.
Purple Hybrid Mattress Video Review
Purple Hybrids have purple detailing all over the bed. It’s a great choice for someone who is passionate about the color. It’s more luxurious than the Purple Hybrid mattress, thanks to the premium cover. The most important thing people want to learn about this mattress is how it feels.
It’s quite different than the innerspring mattress in Grandma’s guest room, and I will tell you that. It’s a completely new design for a bed and it ended up working in the company’s favor. Purple Mattress Warranty
Purple Hybrid mattress firmness, feel and feel
Purple Hybrid beds are soft, airy and don’t feel like foam no matter what model they come in. If you press your finger on the center of the mattress, the squishy pieces will bend and change underneath.
It isn’t noticeable when you lie down. Instead, you feel buoyant and like you are floating on your back or in a hammock. The thick layer of pocketsed coils underneath makes it very supportive.
Purple Hybrid 2 feels simultaneously supportive and pressure-relieving. However, it has a slightly firmer profile. Although the soft squares won’t press into your hips or shoulders when you lie on your back, my spine and back feel reinforced by the Hyper-Elastic Polymer layer. It’s firmer than the Original Purple mattress.
If you aren’t open to exploring new ways of bedding but are curious about the Purple Hybrid then you may want to consider other options. You might be happy with the benefits of the Purple Hybrid if you are open-minded to a mattress feeling that reduces pressure on your hips and shoulders while making you feel lighter. Purple Hybrid Premier
The brand’s two top-level hybrid beds share the same Purple feel but have a slightly softer profile due to their thicker Hyper-Elastic polymer layers.
They both fall between medium to medium-firm or about a 6 on my firmness scale. Purple Mattress Warranty
Purple Hybrid Mattress Construction
The Purple Hybrid has 4 layers and measures around 11 inches high. Let’s take a look at the layers of this bed to get an idea of how Purple and Purple are made.
A thin slab of basic foam about an inch thick, which supports the thick pocketed coil layer above.
A thick system containing 7.5-inch coils in pockets, each individually wrapped with fabric to prevent motion transfer. This is the reason this mattress is so supportive.
A thin half inch of foam to help neutralize any sensations caused by the pockets in the bed’s base.
The brand’s Hyper-Elastic Polymer is approximately 2 inches thick, laid out in a grid pattern. This is the main layer which distinguishes it the Purple Hybrid mattresses. Every mattress has a different thickness. It is soft, bouncy, and provides the most comfort of the Purple.
Surrounding the edges are dense foam slabs to make the sides feel more supportive and sturdy.
Purple’s StretchMax (or Extra-Stretchy) cover can be found on the top. It is more breathable that a typical mattress cover. I liken it more to an antisweat sports undergarment rather than a soft top made of cotton. Purple Mattress Warranty
Purple Hybrid Premier mattress layers
Purple Hybrid Premier is the brand’s highest-end mattress option. The top layers are what really make the difference in construction.
Purple 3 has a layer 3 in. of Hyper-Elastic Polymer at top; Purple 4 has 4 in.
Although they feel the same, it does not make a big difference in their feel. Purple Mattress Warranty
Motion isolation isn’t something innerspring beds are good at. But with the Purple Hybrid’s pocketsed coils as well as the special material inside, it’s an entirely different story.
I think it’s pretty good at isolating motion, even if it is a super-bouncy bed.
It makes almost no noise and you won’t be able to see your partner on the other side. Purple Mattress Warranty
The Purple Hybrid mattresses are constructed with firm foam around the edges to hold your body up more firmly if you tend to creep towards the side of the bed during the night.
This is why I give the edge support capabilities of this mattress two thumbs up.
The other benefit of the Purple Grid besides bouncy comfort would have to be its temperature-regulating abilities. The Purple Grid doesn’t have any cooling materials, but its natural breathable design makes them one of the best mattresses to allow airflow.
It doesn’t retain heat like memory or poly foam, which makes it more appealing for hot sleepers like myself who need additional cooling. Purple is not cold but it does not feel hot. Purple Mattress Warranty
Purple Hybrid’s ideal positions for sleeping and body types
You wouldn’t expect every size shirt to fit at your local clothing store.
Because there are so many choices, it is important to choose carefully. Your preference for a particular position and your body type are key factors in choosing the best mattress. Purple Mattress Warranty
Side, stomach, back, or a combination thereof are the primary sleeping positions. Purple Hybrid is recommended for stomach and back sleepers.
If you are a side sleeper, the Purple Hybrid mattress would be a good choice. They are a little more soft and pressure-relieving that the standard hybrid model, which will make them more beneficial for your sides and shoulders. Purple Mattress Warranty
Type of body
Regardless of your body type, whether you weigh 105 pounds or 250 pounds, I think the Purple Hybrid beds will be perfectly suitable for you.
Purple Hybrid mattress are great for anyone, as they provide more support than standard foam beds like Casper and Nectar. The mattress has a layer of steel-pocketed coils in the bottom. Steel is much more durable that foam. It will be noticeable how the mattress will perform over the years compared with an all foam mattress. Purple Mattress Warranty
The Purple Hybrid costs more than the original Purple. It isn’t the best option for people trying to save as much money as possible when buying a new bed. It’s possible that you will see the Purple Hybrid as a reasonable cost if you are looking to make an investment in your sleep.
The standard Purple Hybrid mattress is available in sizes from twin XL to California king. Prices start from $1,299 and can go all the way to $1.899. While they do not typically offer discounts on this mattress, they may have a promotional offer that gives you free sheets or pillows.
The Purple Hybrid mattress has metal coils encased in foam to offer support and softness.
