Regardless of the model you get, the Purple Hybrid mattresses are soft and airy without feeling like foam. If you press your finger on the center of the mattress, the squishy pieces will bend and change underneath.
While it’s not obvious when you lay down, it feels like you’re floating on the back of a hammock or on your stomach. Though, it’s also really supportive because of the thick layer of pocketed coils, which I’ll explain more below.

The Purple Hybrid has 4 layers and measures around 11 inches high. Let’s take a look at the layers of this bed to get an idea of how Purple and Purple are made.
A thin slab made of basic foam approximately one inch thick that supports the thick layer of pocketed coils above.
A thick system containing 7.5-inch coils in pockets, each individually wrapped with fabric to prevent motion transfer. It is what makes this mattress so comfortable.
