First impressions
Purple Hybrids have purple detailing all over the bed. It’s a great choice for someone who is passionate about the color. Its premium appearance is due to the high-quality cover. The most important thing people want to learn about this mattress is how it feels.

Purple Hybrid mattress firmness and feel
Regardless of the model you get, the Purple Hybrid mattresses are soft and airy without feeling like foam. You can feel the soft, squishy corners of the mattress bend and transform underneath if you place your hand on the middle.
It’s barely noticeable when you lie down. It just feels buoyant, like you’re floating in your hammock or on top of your head. It’s very supportive due to the thick layer pocketed coils. I’ll explain this further below.
The Purple Hybrid 2 simultaneously feels pressure-relieving and supportive, while maintaining a slightly firmer profile; I think it’s around a medium-firm, or 7 out of 10 on the firmness scale. The soft squares of the Purple Hybrid 2 don’t push against your hips and shoulders like a regular firm bed. However, I feel my back and spine are reinforced by Hyper-ElasticPolymer. Purple Hybrid comes as three different models. Each model has a different thickness Purple Grid gel layer.
The Purple Hybrid has four layers and is approximately 11 inches high. Here’s a simple breakdown of the bed’s layers so you get an idea of what makes Purple, Purple:
A thin slab made of basic foam approximately one inch thick that supports the thick layer of pocketed coils above.
A thick system of 7.5-inch pocketed coils, individually wrapped with fabric to help limit motion transfer across the mattress. It’s what makes this mattress so supportive.
A thin, half-inch of foam is used to neutralize the sensation of the bed’s foundation.
The brand’s Hyper-Elastic Polymer is approximately 2 inches thick, laid out in a grid pattern. This is the primary layer that distinguishes it from the other two Purple Hybrid mattresses — each mattress has a different thickness of this layer. It’s soft, bouncy, and provides most Purple Hybrid’s comfort.
Surrounding the edges are dense foam slabs to make the sides feel more supportive and sturdy.

Purple Hybrid Premier mattress layers
The brand’s top-tier mattresses are the Purple Hybrid Premier and Purple Hybrid Premier. The top layers of construction are the only significant differences.
Purple 3 has a layer 3 in. of Hyper-Elastic Polymer at top; Purple 4 has 4 in.

Motion isolation
Motion isolation isn’t something innerspring beds are good at. But with the Purple Hybrid’s pocketsed coils as well as the special material inside, it’s an entirely different story.
It’s quite good at isolating movements, even though the bed is super-bouncy.

Temperature
