First impressions
Purple Hybrid beds have purple details, which is great for those who love the color. The details in the cover give it a premium look, and you can tell it’s a bit more heavy-duty than the flagship Purple mattress. What does the Purple feel like?

Purple Hybrid mattress firmness/feel
Purple Hybrid beds are soft, airy and don’t feel like foam no matter what model they come in. You can feel the soft, squishy corners of the mattress bend and transform underneath if you place your hand on the middle.
It is not noticeable when you lay down. You just feel like you’re floating over your back or on a hammock. The thick layer of pocketsed coils underneath makes it very supportive.
Purple Hybrid 2 simultaneously provides pressure relief and support, while also maintaining a firmer profile. I believe it to be around a medium firm, or 7 on the firmness scale. The soft squares do not press into your hips and shoulders, unlike a traditional firm bed. But my back and spine feel extremely reinforced thanks to the Hyper-Elastic polymer layer. I like it a bit more firm than the Original Purple.

Purple Hybrid is available in three models with different Purple Grid gel layers.
The Purple Hybrid measures approximately 11 inches high and has four layers. This is a quick breakdown of the layers of the Purple Hybrid to give you an idea of what makes Purple, Purple.
A thin slab of basic foam about an inch thick, which supports the thick pocketed coil layer above.
A thick system containing 7.5-inch coils in pockets, each individually wrapped with fabric to prevent motion transfer. It is the foundation of this mattress’s support.
A thin layer of foam about a quarter inch thick to neutralize the effect of the mattress’s foundation.
The brand’s Hyper-Elastic Polymer is approximately 2 inches thick, laid out in a grid pattern. This is the main layer that differentiates it from the Purple Hybrid mattress. Each mattress has a different thickness. It is soft, bouncy and provides the majority of the Purple’s comfort.
To make the sides more stable and sturdy, dense foam slabs are surrounded by the edges.

The two Purple Hybrid Premier beds are the top-tier mattress options from the brand. The only difference in construction is the top layers.
Purple 3 has 3inches of Hyper Elastic Polymer at the top. Purple 4 has 4inches.

Motion isolation
Motion isolation is not a common feature of innerspring beds, but the Purple Hybrid offers a different approach with its pocketed coils.
I believe it’s quite effective at isolating motion even though it’s a super-bouncy mattress.
