Purple Hybrid mattress offers the same Purple feel as its predecessor, but is more durable and supports your body. Purple Mattress Sample
The Purple Hybrid mattress is made by the same company that created Hyper-Elastic Polymer, the original Purple bed and the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 and 4. Purple actually has three types of hybrid beds. They are appropriately named the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 or 4 and the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 or 4. Below I will explain why you might prefer one to the other and how they compare with the rest. Find out if a Purple Hybrid Mattress is right for you.
Purple Hybrid , also known as the Purple 2, is the thinnest of the hybrid options and stands at 11 inches thick. It is also firmer and more suitable for stomach, back, or stomach sleepers than the two other models. It is also the most affordable Purple Hybrid model.
The Purple Hybrid Premier, formerly known as Purple 3, is 12 inches thick with a thicker Hyper-Elastic Polymer comfort layer. This makes it feel a touch softer and it is around a medium-firm. Purple Mattress Sample
Purple Hybrid Premier 4 Purple Hybrid Hybrid beds are the most expensive. However, it’s 13 inches thick and extra supportive. The Purple Hybrid Premier 4 has a medium to firm profile, which we believe would suit most body types.
Purple Hybrid Mattress Video Review
Purple Hybrids have purple detailing all over the bed. It’s a great choice for someone who is passionate about the color. The cover has premium details that give it a more luxurious look than the Purple flagship mattress. The main thing people want to know about this mattress is what does the Purple feel like?
It’s totally different from the innerspring mattress in Grandma’s guest room. This is a novel concept for a bed, and I believe it worked in the company’s favor. Purple Mattress Sample
Purple Hybrid mattress firmness and feel
Purple Hybrid beds are soft, airy and don’t feel like foam no matter what model they come in. If you press your finger on the center of the mattress, the squishy pieces will bend and change underneath.
It’s not super noticeable when you’re laying down, it just feels buoyant like you’re floating on your back or laying on a hammock. It’s very supportive due to the thick layer pocketed coils. I’ll explain this further below.
The Purple Hybrid 2 simultaneously feels supportive and pressure-relieving, but it also has a slightly firmer profile. It’s 7/10 on the firmness scale. Although the soft squares won’t press into your hips or shoulders when you lie on your back, my spine and back feel reinforced by the Hyper-Elastic Polymer layer. I like it a bit more firm than the Original Purple.
If you’re curious about the Purple Hybrid but you aren’t willing to explore unconventional ways of bedding, you might want to look elsewhere. You might be happy with the benefits of the Purple Hybrid if you are open-minded to a mattress feeling that reduces pressure on your hips and shoulders while making you feel lighter. Purple Hybrid Premier
The brand’s two hybrid beds at the top of the range have the same Purple feel. However they are slightly more softened by thicker layers hyper elastic polymer.
They are between medium and medium-firm. I would say they’re about 6 on the firmness spectrum. Purple Mattress Sample
Construction of Purple Hybrid mattresses
The Purple Hybrid measures approximately 11 inches high and has four layers. Here’s a simple breakdown of the bed’s layers so you get an idea of what makes Purple, Purple:
A thin layer of basic foam, about one-inch thick, that supports the thick pocketed coil layers above.
A thick system of 7.5-inch pocketed coils, individually wrapped with fabric to help limit motion transfer across the mattress. This is the reason this mattress is so supportive.
A thin half inch of foam to help neutralize any sensations caused by the pockets in the bed’s base.
The brand’s Hyper-Elastic Polymer is approximately 2 inches thick, laid out in a grid pattern. This is the layer that makes it different from the Purple Hybrids. Each mattress has an individual thickness. It provides most of Purple’s comfort.
Dense foam slabs surround the edges to give the sides a more solid and stable feel.
On top is the Purple’s “StretchMax” cover, and just like the name implies, it’s extra-stretchy. It feels more breathable than traditional mattress covers. I compare it to an athletic antisweat top rather than a soft cotton one. Purple Mattress Sample
Purple Hybrid Premier mattress layers
The Purple Hybrid Premier mattress is the highest-rated option from the brand. Really, the only major differences in construction are the top layers.
Purple 3 has 3inches of Hyper Elastic Polymer at the top. Purple 4 has 4inches.
The Purple Hybrid is softer than these, although they don’t feel any different. Purple Mattress Sample
Motion isolation is not a common feature of innerspring beds, but the Purple Hybrid offers a different approach with its pocketed coils.
I think it’s pretty good at isolating motion, even if it is a super-bouncy bed.
It is almost silent and your partner will not be able hear you. Purple Mattress Sample
Purple Hybrid mattress are made with firm foam around edges to keep your body upright if you find yourself slipping towards the side of bed at night.
So, I give this mattress the enthusiastic thumbs up for edge support.
The other benefit of the Purple Grid besides bouncy comfort would have to be its temperature-regulating abilities. The Purple Grid has a natural breathable structure that allows for airflow.
It doesn’t retain heat in the same way as memory foam or Poly foam. This makes Purple a great choice for hot sleepers who need extra cooling. Although it’s not cold, I don’t feel too hot when I sleep on the Purple. Purple Mattress Sample
Purple Hybrid’s ideal positions for sleeping and body types
You wouldn’t be able to wear every shirt in your favorite clothing store. The same goes for mattresses.
Especially since there are so many different options to pick from. Your body type and preferred position are the most important factors in choosing the right mattress. Purple Mattress Sample
The primary sleeping positions are side, stomach, back or a combination of them all. Purple Hybrid is recommended for stomach and back sleepers.
If you’re a side-sleeper and really want the Purple Hybrid I’d recommend one of the Purple Premier beds. These mattresses are slightly softer and less pressure-relieving than standard hybrid models, which will benefit your shoulders and sides more. Purple Mattress Sample
