Purple Hybrid mattresses offer the same Purple feel but are more durable and supportive. Purple Mattress Reviews
From the company that gave you Hyper-Elastic Polymer and the original Purple bed comes the big-and-sturdy Purple Hybrid mattresses. Purple actually offers three hybrid beds: the Purple Hybrid and the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 & 4. Below, I’ll discuss the many reasons why you might want one or the other. And if the price is right for you. Find out if a Purple Hybrid Mattress is right for you.
Purple Hybrid, also called the Purple 2, is the thinnest hybrid option and measures in at 11 inches. It’s firmer than the other models and is suitable for stomach and back sleepers. It is also the most affordable Purple Hybrid model.
The Purple Hybrid Premier (formerly Purple 3) is 12 inches in thickness with a thicker Hyper elastic Polymer comfort layer. This makes the Purple Hybrid Premier feel a bit more soft and places it around a medium to moderate-firm scale. Purple Mattress Reviews
Purple Hybrid Premier 4 Purple Hybrid Hybrid is the most expensive Purple hybrid bed, but it’s also thicker (13 inches) and offers extra support. It is similar to the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 in that it has a medium-firm profile. We think it would be suitable for most body types.

First impressions
Purple Hybrid beds have purple details, which is great for those who love the color. It has a premium appearance thanks to the fine details on the cover. You can also tell that it is a bit heavier than the Purple flagship mattress. The most important thing people want to learn about this mattress is how it feels.
It’s certainly not the same innerspring mattress that Grandma used in her guest room. This bed is an entirely new concept that I believe worked well for the company. Purple Mattress Reviews
Purple Hybrid mattress firmness, feel and feel
No matter which model you choose, Purple Hybrid mattresses feel soft and airy but not like foam. If you press your finger on the center of the mattress, the squishy pieces will bend and change underneath.
It’s not super noticeable when you’re laying down, it just feels buoyant like you’re floating on your back or laying on a hammock. The thick layer pocketsed coils make it really supportive, which I’ll explain below.
Purple Hybrid 2 simultaneously relieves pressure and supports, but has a slightly firmer profile. This Purple Hybrid 2 is around a medium-firm or 7 out 10 on my firmness scale. The soft squares don’t push into your hips and shoulders when you’re on your side like your typical firm bed, but my back and spine feel very reinforced above the bed’s Hyper-Elastic Polymer layer. I feel it is a touch firmer that the Original Purple.
If you aren’t open to exploring new ways of bedding but are curious about the Purple Hybrid then you may want to consider other options. You might be happy with the benefits of the Purple Hybrid if you are open-minded to a mattress feeling that reduces pressure on your hips and shoulders while making you feel lighter. Purple Hybrid Premier
The brand’s two hybrid beds at the top of the range have the same Purple feel. However they are slightly more softened by thicker layers hyper elastic polymer.
I think they both land in between a medium to medium-firm, or around a 6 on the firmness scale. Purple Mattress Reviews
Construction of Purple Hybrid mattresses
The Purple Hybrid comes in three different models, each with a different thickness of the Purple Grid gel layer.
The Purple Hybrid’s four layers are approximately 11 inches in height and has four layers. Let’s take a look at the layers of this bed to get an idea of how Purple and Purple are made.
A thin slab about an inch thick of basic foam that supports the thick pocketed coil layer.
The mattress has a thick system made of 7.5-inch pockets coils. Each coil is individually wrapped in fabric to reduce motion transfer. This is the reason this mattress is so supportive.
A thin layer of foam about a quarter inch thick to neutralize the effect of the mattress’s foundation.
Around 2 inches of the brand’s special Hyper-Elastic Polymer, laid out in a grid formation. This is the main layer that differentiates it from the Purple Hybrid mattress. Each mattress has a different thickness. It is soft, bouncy and provides the majority of the Purple’s comfort.
The dense foam slabs that surround the edges make the sides more sturdy and supportive.
Purple’s StretchMax “StretchMax” covers are layered on top. They are, just like their name, extra-stretchy. It’s more breathable than any standard mattress cover. You can compare the feel to a soft cotton top or an athletic antisweat shirt. Purple Mattress Reviews

Purple Hybrid Premier mattress layers
The two Purple Hybrid Premier beds are the top-tier mattress options from the brand. The only difference in construction is the top layers.
The Purple 3 has a 3-inch layer of Hyper-Elastic Polymer at the top, while Purple 4 has 4 inches.
The Purple Hybrid is softer than these, although they don’t feel any different. Purple Mattress Reviews
Motion isolation
Although motion isolation is not usually an innerspring bed’s strength, the Purple Hybrid’s pocketed coils, special material, and other features make it a unique story.
It’s quite good at isolating movements, even though the bed is super-bouncy.
It is almost silent and your partner will not be able hear you. Purple Mattress Reviews
Edge support
Purple Hybrid mattresses include firm foam on the edges. If you are prone to slipping during the night, the Purple Hybrid will keep you more secure.
Therefore, I give this mattress my enthusiastic thumbs-up for its edge support capabilities.
Temperature
The other benefit of the Purple Grid besides bouncy comfort would have to be its temperature-regulating abilities. The Purple Grid doesn’t have any cooling materials, but its natural breathable design makes them one of the best mattresses to allow airflow.
It doesn’t retain heat the way memory foam or polyfoam might. This makes it appealing to hot sleeping people like me who want additional cooling. It’s not cold to the touch, but I really don’t feel hot while sleeping on the Purple. Purple Mattress Reviews
Purple Hybrid’s ideal sleeping positions and body types
You wouldn’t expect to find the right size shirt at your favorite clothing shop, so don’t assume that every mattress will be accommodating.
You have so many options. The best mattress for you will depend on your body type and the position that you prefer to sleep in. Purple Mattress Reviews
Position
The main sleeping positions are stomach, back, or side. The Purple Hybrid is best for stomach and back sleepers.
If you are a side sleeper, the Purple Hybrid mattress would be a good choice. They are slightly more comfortable and relieve pressure than the standard hybrid mattress, which will be a plus for your shoulders. Purple Mattress Reviews
Type of body
The Purple Hybrid beds are perfect for anyone, regardless of their body type.
Purple Hybrid mattresses can be used by all body types as they are more supportive of traditional foam beds like Casper or Nectar. The mattress has a layer of steel-pocketed coils in the bottom. Steel is much more durable that foam. This mattress will last 10 years longer than an all-foam one. Purple Mattress Reviews
Price
Purple Hybrids are more expensive than original Purples. They also tend to be less affordable for those who need to spend as little as possible on a brand new bed. It’s possible that you will see the Purple Hybrid as a reasonable cost if you are looking to make an investment in your sleep.
The standard Purple Hybrid mattress is available in sizes from twin XL to California king. Prices start at $1299 and go up to $1899. While they do not typically offer discounts on this mattress, they may have a promotional offer that gives you free sheets or pillows.
Purple Hybrid mattresses have metal coils that are encased with foam for support and softness.
