Purple Hybrid mattresses offer the same Purple feel but are more durable and supportive. Purple Mattress Review 2019
From the company that gave you Hyper-Elastic Polymer and the original Purple bed comes the big-and-sturdy Purple Hybrid mattresses. Purple offers three kinds of hybrid beds. The Purple Hybrid, Purple Hybrid Premier 3/3 and Purple Hybrid Premier 4 are the appropriate names. Below, I’ll dive into the different reasons why you may want one over the other, and if they’re worth their price in general. Keep reading to discover if the Purple Hybrid mattress is right for YOU.
Purple Hybrid, also known by the Purple 2, measures 11 inches in thickness. It’s also firmer than the other two models and is ideal for back or stomach sleepers. It is also the most affordable Purple Hybrid model.
The Purple Hybrid Premier, also known as Purple 3 is 12 in thick and features a thicker Hyperelastic Polymer comfort coating. This makes the Purple Hybrid Premier feel a bit more soft and places it around a medium to moderate-firm scale. Purple Mattress Review 2019
The Purple Hybrid Premier 4 is the most expensive of the Purple hybrid beds, but it’s a whopping 13 inches thick and is extra supportive. It is similar to the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 in that it has a medium-firm profile. We think it would be suitable for most body types.
Purple Hybrid Mattress Video Review
The Purple Hybrid incorporates purple detailing throughout the bed, a great touch for an avid lover of the color. It’s more luxurious than the Purple Hybrid mattress, thanks to the premium cover. What does the Purple mattress feel like?
It’s quite different than the innerspring mattress in Grandma’s guest room, and I will tell you that. It’s a new concept for a bed that I think ended up working in the company’s favor. Purple Mattress Review 2019
Purple Hybrid mattress firmness and feel
Purple Hybrid beds are soft, airy and don’t feel like foam no matter what model they come in. When you run your hand down the center of the mattress, you can feel the squishy squares bend and morph underneath.
While it’s not obvious when you lay down, it feels like you’re floating on the back of a hammock or on your stomach. The thick layer pocketsed coils make it really supportive, which I’ll explain below.
Purple Hybrid 2 simultaneously relieves pressure and supports, but has a slightly firmer profile. This Purple Hybrid 2 is around a medium-firm or 7 out 10 on my firmness scale. The soft squares don’t push into your hips and shoulders when you’re on your side like your typical firm bed, but my back and spine feel very reinforced above the bed’s Hyper-Elastic Polymer layer. I like it a bit more firm than the Original Purple.
If you’re curious about the Purple Hybrid but you aren’t willing to explore unconventional ways of bedding, you might want to look elsewhere. It might appeal to you if the mattress feels like it is releasing pressure from your hips, shoulders, back and making you feel lighter. Purple Mattress Review 2019
Purple Hybrid Premier
The brand’s two upper-level hybrid beds have the same signature Purple feel, but they have a slightly softer profile because of their thicker layers of Hyper-Elastic Polymer.
I believe they are both medium-firms, or approximately a 6, on the firmness scale. Purple Mattress Review 2019
Purple Hybrid mattress construction
The Purple Hybrid has four layers and is approximately 11 inches high. Here is a basic breakdown of the layers in the Purple Hybrid so that you can get an understanding of what makes Purple, Purple.
A thin slab of basic foam about an inch thick, which supports the thick pocketed coil layer above.
A thick system containing 7.5-inch coils in pockets, each individually wrapped with fabric to prevent motion transfer. It is what makes this mattress so comfortable.
To neutralize the feeling of the coils within the foundation of the bed, add a thin 1/2 inch of foam.
2 inches of Hyper-Elastic Pomer from the brand, laid out in grid formation. This layer is what distinguishes the Purple Hybrid mattress from the others. Each mattress’s thickness varies. It’s soft, bouncy, and provides most Purple Hybrid’s comfort.
Surrounding the edges are dense foam slabs to make the sides feel more supportive and sturdy.
On top is the Purple’s “StretchMax” cover, and just like the name implies, it’s extra-stretchy. It is more breathable that a typical mattress cover. I liken it more to an antisweat sports undergarment rather than a soft top made of cotton. Purple Mattress Review 2019
Purple Hybrid Premier mattress layers
The brand’s top-tier mattresses are the Purple Hybrid Premier and Purple Hybrid Premier. Really, the only major differences in construction are the top layers.
Purple 3 has 3inches of Hyper Elastic Polymer at the top. Purple 4 has 4inches.
The Purple Hybrid is softer than these, although they don’t feel any different. Purple Mattress Review 2019
Motion isolation is not something that innerspring beds are known for, but the Purple Hybrid has pocketsed coils and special material that make it possible.
It’s quite good at isolating movements, even though the bed is super-bouncy.
It virtually makes no noise, and you’ll hardly be able to notice your partner moving around on the other side. Purple Mattress Review 2019
Purple Hybrid mattresses have firm foam at the edges that will hold you up if your body tends to lean towards the sides of the bed.
This mattress has edge support capabilities that I am happy to give two thumbs up.
The other benefit of the Purple Grid besides bouncy comfort would have to be its temperature-regulating abilities. The Purple Grid has a natural breathable structure that allows for airflow.
It doesn’t retain heat like memory foam or poly foam might, making it appealing to hot sleepers like me who need the additional cooling relief. Although it’s not cold, I don’t feel too hot when I sleep on the Purple. Purple Mattress Review 2019
Purple Hybrid’s ideal positions for sleeping and body types
You wouldn’t expect to find the right size shirt at your favorite clothing shop, so don’t assume that every mattress will be accommodating.
This is especially true since there are so numerous options. Your body type and preferred position are the most important factors in choosing the right mattress. Purple Mattress Review 2019
There are three main sleeping positions: side, stomach or back. Purple Hybrids will be most suitable for stomach and back sleepers.
If you are a side sleeper, the Purple Hybrid mattress would be a good choice. They are slightly more comfortable and relieve pressure than the standard hybrid mattress, which will be a plus for your shoulders. Purple Mattress Review 2019
Type of body
No matter what your body size, no matter how heavy or light, the Purple Hybrid bed will work for you.
The Purple Hybrid mattresses are great for all body types because they are more supportive than typical foam beds like Nectar or Casper. They are made with steel pocketed coils that sit on top of the mattress. This makes them more durable than traditional foam beds. It will be noticeable how the mattress will perform over the years compared with an all foam mattress. Purple Mattress Review 2019
The Purple Hybrid is more expensive than the original Purple, of course, and isn’t the best for people who are trying to spend as little as they can on a new bed. It’s possible that you will see the Purple Hybrid as a reasonable cost if you are looking to make an investment in your sleep.
Purple Hybrid mattresses are available from twin XL up to California king. The prices start at $1,299, and can go up to $1,899. The bed is not usually discounted, but there may be a promotion for free sheets or pillows.
Purple Hybrid mattresses are made with metal coils and foam that provide support and softness.
Purple offers shipping, trial, and warranty
Every online mattress company will offer a few extra perks that make it more worthwhile to buy, such as shipping and a free trial. Purple Mattress Review 2019
Free shipping to your door is possible, but it depends on which bed you choose. Standard shipping will be free if you order a Purple Hybrid. For the Purple Hybrid Premier beds, you’ll actually get free white-glove delivery, and they’ll set up your mattress in-home for you.
You’ll have a solid 100 nights to test out your bed. You can return your bed if you aren’t satisfied with it by the end of night 99. In case of a manufacturer defect, Purple backs its mattresses with a 10-year limited warranty.
