First impressions
Purple Hybrids have purple detailing all over the bed. It’s a great choice for someone who is passionate about the color. It’s more luxurious than the Purple Hybrid mattress, thanks to the premium cover. The main thing people want to know about this mattress is what does the Purple feel like?

Purple Hybrid mattress firmness/feel
Purple Hybrid mattresses, regardless of which model you buy, are soft and airy. They don’t feel like foam. If you press your finger on the center of the mattress, the squishy pieces will bend and change underneath.
While it’s not obvious when you lay down, it feels like you’re floating on the back of a hammock or on your stomach. However, the thick layer made of pocketed coils makes it extremely supportive.
The Purple Hybrid 2 simultaneously feels pressure-relieving and supportive, while maintaining a slightly firmer profile; I think it’s around a medium-firm, or 7 out of 10 on the firmness scale. Although the soft squares won’t press into your hips or shoulders when you lie on your back, my spine and back feel reinforced by the Hyper-Elastic Polymer layer. The Purple Hybrid measures approximately 11 inches high and has four layers. Here is a basic breakdown of the layers in the Purple Hybrid so that you can get an understanding of what makes Purple, Purple.
A thin slab of basic Foam about an inch in thickness, which supports the thick pocketed coil above.
A thick system of 7.5-inch pocketed coils, individually wrapped with fabric to help limit motion transfer across the mattress. It’s the main reason why this mattress is so supportive.
A thin half an inch of foam to help neutralize the feel of the pocketed coils in the bed’s foundation.
2 inches of Hyper-Elastic Pomer from the brand, laid out in grid formation. This is the main layer which distinguishes it the Purple Hybrid mattresses. Every mattress has a different thickness. It’s soft, bouncy, and provides most Purple Hybrid’s comfort.
To give the sides more support and stability, dense foam slabs are placed around the edges.

Purple Hybrid Premier mattress layers
The two Purple Hybrid Premier beds are the top-tier mattress options from the brand. The top layers are what really make the difference in construction.
Purple 3 has a layer 3 in. of Hyper-Elastic Polymer at top; Purple 4 has 4 in.

I think it’s pretty good at isolating motion, even if it is a super-bouncy bed.
