Purple Hybrid Mattress delivers the same Purple feel with a stronger and more supportive construction. Purple Mattress Prices
Purple Hybrid mattresses come from the same company that made Hyper-Elastic Pomer and the original Purple bed. Purple offers three varieties of hybrid beds. These are appropriately named Purple Hybrid Premier 3 to Purple Hybrid Premier 4. Below I will explain why you might prefer one to the other and how they compare with the rest. Keep reading to discover if the Purple Hybrid mattress is right for YOU.
Purple Hybrid , also known as the Purple 2, is the thinnest of the hybrid options and stands at 11 inches thick. It is also firmer and more suitable for stomach, back, or stomach sleepers than the two other models. It is also the most affordable Purple Hybrid model.
The Purple Hybrid Premier, also known as Purple 3 is 12 in thick and features a thicker Hyperelastic Polymer comfort coating. This makes it feel slightly softer, and it lands at a medium-firm to medium-firm level on the scale. Purple Mattress Prices
Purple Hybrid Premier 4 Purple Hybrid Hybrid beds are the most expensive. However, it’s 13 inches thick and extra supportive. It is similar to the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 in that it has a medium-firm profile. We think it would be suitable for most body types.
Purple Hybrid Mattress Video Review
Purple Hybrids include purple details throughout the bed. This is a wonderful addition for anyone who loves the color. Its premium appearance is due to the high-quality cover. What does the Purple feel like?
Well, it’s completely different from the innerspring mattress in the guest room at Grandma’s, I’ll tell you that much. It’s an innovative concept for a mattress that I think worked in the company’s favor. Purple Mattress Prices
Purple Hybrid mattress firmness, feel and feel
No matter which model you choose, Purple Hybrid mattresses feel soft and airy but not like foam. The purple squares can be felt under your fingertips if you move your hand along the mattress’s center.
It isn’t noticeable when you lie down. Instead, you feel buoyant and like you are floating on your back or in a hammock. Though, it’s also really supportive because of the thick layer of pocketed coils, which I’ll explain more below.
The Purple Hybrid 2 simultaneously feels supportive and pressure-relieving, but it also has a slightly firmer profile. It’s 7/10 on the firmness scale. While the soft squares aren’t pushed into your hips or shoulders if you lie sideways, they don’t feel like a typical firm mattress. However, my back and spine feel reinforced by the Hyper Elastic Polymer layer. It’s firmer than the Original Purple mattress.
The Purple Hybrid is a great option if you don’t want to experiment with other bedding styles. It might appeal to you if the mattress feels like it is releasing pressure from your hips, shoulders, back and making you feel lighter. Purple Mattress Prices
Purple Hybrid Premier
Although they share the brand’s signature Purple feel, the two higher-level hybrid beds are slightly different because they contain thicker layers Hyper-Elastic Polymer.
I think they both land in between a medium to medium-firm, or around a 6 on the firmness scale. Purple Mattress Prices
Construction of Purple Hybrid mattresses
The Purple Hybrid has 4 layers and measures around 11 inches high. Below is a breakdown of each layer of the Purple Hybrid bed. This will give you an idea about what makes Purple and Purple.
A thin slab made of basic foam approximately one inch thick that supports the thick layer of pocketed coils above.
To limit motion transfer, the mattress features a thick system of 7.5-inch pocketsed coils that are individually wrapped with fabric. This is the reason this mattress is so supportive.
A thin, half-inch of foam is used to neutralize the sensation of the bed’s foundation.
The Hyper-Elastic polymer of the brand is 2 inches thick. It’s laid out in a grid structure. This is the primary layer that distinguishes it from the other two Purple Hybrid mattresses — each mattress has a different thickness of this layer. It is soft, bouncy and provides the majority of the Purple’s comfort.
To give the sides more support and stability, dense foam slabs are placed around the edges.
The Purple’s StretchMax cover is atop, and it is, as the name suggests, extra-stretchy. I think it feels more breathable than your typical mattress cover and compare the feel more to an athletic antisweat undergarment than a soft cotton top. Purple Mattress Prices
Purple Hybrid Premier mattress layers
Purple Hybrid Premier is the brand’s highest-end mattress option. The top layers of construction are the only significant differences.
Purple 3 has a layer 3 in. of Hyper-Elastic Polymer at top; Purple 4 has 4 in.
It doesn’t make a huge difference in feel, but they are softer than the Purple Hybrid. Purple Mattress Prices
Motion isolation is not a common feature of innerspring beds, but the Purple Hybrid offers a different approach with its pocketed coils.
It is quite good at isolating movement, even though it is super-bouncy.
It barely makes any noise, and it’s almost impossible to notice your partner moving on the opposite side. Purple Mattress Prices
Purple Hybrid mattresses have firm foam at the edges that will hold you up if your body tends to lean towards the sides of the bed.
Therefore, I give this mattress my enthusiastic thumbs-up for its edge support capabilities.
The other benefit of the Purple Grid besides bouncy comfort would have to be its temperature-regulating abilities. The Purple Grid has a natural breathable structure that allows for airflow.
It doesn’t retain heat like memory or poly foam, which makes it more appealing for hot sleepers like myself who need additional cooling. The Purple is not cold to my skin, but it doesn’t make me feel hot. Purple Mattress Prices
Purple Hybrids’ ideal sleeping positions & body types
You wouldn’t expect to find the right size shirt at your favorite clothing shop, so don’t assume that every mattress will be accommodating.
You have so many options. Your body type and preferred position are the most important factors in choosing the right mattress. Purple Mattress Prices
The primary sleeping positions are side, stomach, back or a combination of them all. The Purple Hybrid is best for stomach and back sleepers.
If you’re a side-sleeper and really want the Purple Hybrid I’d recommend one of the Purple Premier beds. They are a bit softer and more pressure-relieving than the standard hybrid model, which will be more of a benefit to your sides and shoulders. Purple Mattress Prices
