Purple Hybrid mattresses have the same Purple feel, but with a more sturdy and supportive construction. Purple Mattress Opening
Purple Hybrid mattresses come from the same company that made Hyper-Elastic Pomer and the original Purple bed. Purple actually has three types of hybrid beds. They are appropriately named the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 or 4 and the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 or 4. Below, I’ll discuss the many reasons why you might want one or the other. And if the price is right for you. Continue reading to learn if a Purple Hybrid is right for your needs.
Purple Hybrid is also known as Purple 2 and is 11 inches thick. It is also more firm than the other models, making it ideal for stomach or back sleepers. It’s also the most affordable Purple Hybrid Mattress.
The Purple Hybrid Premier (formerly Purple 3) is 12 inches in thickness with a thicker Hyper elastic Polymer comfort layer. This makes it feel a touch softer and it is around a medium-firm. Purple Mattress Opening
Purple Hybrid Premier 4 Purple Hybrid Hybrid is the most expensive Purple hybrid bed, but it’s also thicker (13 inches) and offers extra support. It’s similar to the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 and has a medium or medium-firm profile. We believe it would suit any body type.
Purple Hybrid Mattress Video Review
Purple Hybrid beds have purple details, which is great for those who love the color. It has a premium appearance thanks to the fine details on the cover. You can also tell that it is a bit heavier than the Purple flagship mattress. People want to know what the Purple feels like.
It’s certainly not the same innerspring mattress that Grandma used in her guest room. It’s a new concept for a bed that I think ended up working in the company’s favor. Purple Mattress Opening
Purple Hybrid mattress firmness, feel and feel
Purple Hybrid beds are soft, airy and don’t feel like foam no matter what model they come in. When you run your hand down the center of the mattress, you can feel the squishy squares bend and morph underneath.
While it’s not obvious when you lay down, it feels like you’re floating on the back of a hammock or on your stomach. The thick layer pocketsed coils make it really supportive, which I’ll explain below.
Purple Hybrid 2 feels simultaneously supportive and pressure-relieving. However, it has a slightly firmer profile. The soft squares do not press into your hips and shoulders, unlike a traditional firm bed. But my back and spine feel extremely reinforced thanks to the Hyper-Elastic polymer layer. I find it a little firmer than my Original Purple mattress.
The Purple Hybrid is a great option if you don’t want to experiment with other bedding styles. If you are open to the idea of a mattress that relieves pressure from your hips, shoulders, and back, while also making you feel light, this might be a good choice for you. Purple Mattress Opening
Purple Hybrid Premier
The brand’s two upper-level hybrid beds have the same signature Purple feel, but they have a slightly softer profile because of their thicker layers of Hyper-Elastic Polymer.
They both fall between medium to medium-firm or about a 6 on my firmness scale. Purple Mattress Opening
Purple Hybrid mattress construction
The Purple Hybrid is four layers thick and around 11 inches tall. Let’s take a look at the layers of this bed to get an idea of how Purple and Purple are made.
A thin slab about an inch thick of basic foam that supports the thick pocketed coil layer.
The mattress has a thick system made of 7.5-inch pockets coils. Each coil is individually wrapped in fabric to reduce motion transfer. It’s the main reason why this mattress is so supportive.
To neutralize the feeling of the coils within the foundation of the bed, add a thin 1/2 inch of foam.
The Hyper-Elastic polymer of the brand is 2 inches thick. It’s laid out in a grid structure. This is the primary layer that distinguishes it from the other two Purple Hybrid mattresses — each mattress has a different thickness of this layer. It’s bouncy, squishy, soft and provides most of the Purple’s comfort.
To make the sides more stable and sturdy, dense foam slabs are surrounded by the edges.
On top is the Purple’s “StretchMax” cover, and just like the name implies, it’s extra-stretchy. It is more breathable that a typical mattress cover. I liken it more to an antisweat sports undergarment rather than a soft top made of cotton. Purple Mattress Opening
Purple Hybrid Premier mattress layers
The brand’s top-tier mattresses are the Purple Hybrid Premier and Purple Hybrid Premier. Only the top layers make up the main difference in construction.
Purple 3 has 3inches of Hyper Elastic Polymer at the top. Purple 4 has 4inches.
The Purple Hybrid is softer than these, although they don’t feel any different. Purple Mattress Opening
Motion isolation isn’t something innerspring beds are good at. But with the Purple Hybrid’s pocketsed coils as well as the special material inside, it’s an entirely different story.
It seems to be quite capable of isolating motion, even though it is very bouncy.
It is almost silent and your partner will not be able hear you. Purple Mattress Opening
Purple Hybrid mattresses have firm foam at the edges that will hold you up if your body tends to lean towards the sides of the bed.
So, I give this mattress the enthusiastic thumbs up for edge support.
The other benefit of the Purple Grid besides bouncy comfort would have to be its temperature-regulating abilities. The Purple Grid does not have any fancy cooling materials. Its natural, breathable design means that it is one of the best mattresses available for allowing airflow.
It doesn’t retain heat as memory foam and poly foam might. This makes it attractive to hot sleepers such as me, who require additional cooling. It’s not cold to the touch, but I really don’t feel hot while sleeping on the Purple. Purple Mattress Opening
Purple Hybrid’s perfect sleeping positions and body types
You wouldn’t be able to wear every shirt in your favorite clothing store. The same goes for mattresses.
You have so many options. Your preferred position and body type will determine the perfect mattress. Purple Mattress Opening
The primary sleeping positions are side, stomach, back or a combination of them all. I think the Purple Hybrid will work best for back and stomach sleepers.
If you are a side sleeper, the Purple Hybrid mattress would be a good choice. They are a bit softer and more pressure-relieving than the standard hybrid model, which will be more of a benefit to your sides and shoulders. Purple Mattress Opening
Type of body
Regardless of your body type, whether you weigh 105 pounds or 250 pounds, I think the Purple Hybrid beds will be perfectly suitable for you.
The Purple Hybrid mattresses are great for all body types because they are more supportive than typical foam beds like Nectar or Casper. They are made with steel pocketed coils that sit on top of the mattress. This makes them more durable than traditional foam beds. It will be noticeable how the mattress will perform over the years compared with an all foam mattress. Purple Mattress Opening
The Purple Hybrid is more expensive than the original Purple, of course, and isn’t the best for people who are trying to spend as little as they can on a new bed. The Purple Hybrid is a good choice if your goal is to invest in your evening’s sleep.
Purple Hybrid mattresses can be purchased in sizes from twinXL to California queen. Prices start at $1299 and go up until $1,899. Although they don’t often offer discounts on this bed, they might have a promotion that includes free sheets and pillows.
Purple Hybrid mattress features metal coils wrapped in foam to provide support and softness.
