Purple Hybrid Mattresses are made by the same company as Hyper-Elastic Polyester and the original Purple Bed. Below I will discuss the reasons you might choose one over another and whether they are worth the price. Keep reading to discover if the Purple Hybrid mattress is right for YOU.
Purple Hybrid, also known by the Purple 2, measures 11 inches in thickness. It’s firmer than the other models and is suitable for stomach and back sleepers. With that said, it’s the most affordable Purple Hybrid mattress.
The Purple Hybrid Premier is 12 inches thick and has a thicker Hyper Elastic Polymer comfort layer. It feels a little softer and is a medium-firm weight. Purple Mattress Dealers
Purple Hybrid Premier 4 Purple Hybrid bed is the most costly, but it is thicker than all Purple hybrid beds and provides extra support. It has a medium-firm profile and would be suitable for all body types, just like the Purple Hybrid Premier 3.
Purple Hybrid Mattress Video Review
Purple Hybrids feature purple detailing throughout their beds, which is a nice touch for those who are passionate about the color. It has a premium appearance thanks to the fine details on the cover. You can also tell that it is a bit heavier than the Purple flagship mattress. What does the Purple feel like?
It is completely different from Grandma’s innerspring mattress, I’ll be honest. It’s an innovative concept for a mattress that I think worked in the company’s favor. Purple Mattress Dealers
Purple Hybrid mattress firmness/feel
No matter which model you choose, Purple Hybrid mattresses feel soft and airy but not like foam. You can feel the soft, squishy corners of the mattress bend and transform underneath if you place your hand on the middle.
It isn’t noticeable when you lie down. Instead, you feel buoyant and like you are floating on your back or in a hammock. The thick layer pocketsed coils make it really supportive, which I’ll explain below.
Purple Hybrid 2 simultaneously provides pressure relief and support, while also maintaining a firmer profile. I believe it to be around a medium firm, or 7 on the firmness scale. Although the soft squares won’t press into your hips or shoulders when you lie on your back, my spine and back feel reinforced by the Hyper-Elastic Polymer layer. It’s firmer than the Original Purple mattress.
If you’re interested in the Purple Hybrid but don’t have the time or desire to explore other types of bedding, it might be worth looking elsewhere. The Purple Hybrid might be for you if it offers a mattress feel that is both supportive and light on the hips, shoulders and back. Purple Mattress Dealers
Purple Hybrid Premier
The brand’s two highest-level hybrid beds feature the same Purple feel. However, they have a slightly softer profile due to thicker layers made of Hyper-Elastic Pomer.
They both fall between medium to medium-firm or about a 6 on my firmness scale. Purple Mattress Dealers
Purple Hybrid mattress construction
The Purple Hybrid is four layers thick and around 11 inches tall. Here is a basic breakdown of the layers in the Purple Hybrid so that you can get an understanding of what makes Purple, Purple.
A thin slab of basic foam about an inch thick, which supports the thick pocketed coil layer above.
The mattress is made up of thick pockets of coils measuring 7.5 inches in diameter, each wrapped in fabric to limit movement transfer. It’s what makes this mattress so supportive.
A thin half an inch of foam to help neutralize the feel of the pocketed coils in the bed’s foundation.
The brand’s Hyper-Elastic Polymer is approximately 2 inches thick, laid out in a grid pattern. This is the main layer that differentiates it from the Purple Hybrid mattress. Each mattress has a different thickness. It provides most of Purple’s comfort.
To make the sides more stable and sturdy, dense foam slabs are surrounded by the edges.
On top is the Purple’s “StretchMax” cover, and just like the name implies, it’s extra-stretchy. It feels more breathable and breathable then a standard mattress cover. Purple Mattress Dealers
Purple Hybrid Premier mattress layers
The brand’s top-tier mattresses are the Purple Hybrid Premier and Purple Hybrid Premier. Really, the only major differences in construction are the top layers.
Purple 3 has a layer of Hyper elastic Polymer at its top that measures 3 inches, while Purple 4 has 4 inches.
The Purple Hybrid is softer than these, although they don’t feel any different. Purple Mattress Dealers
Motion isolation isn’t usually an innerspring bed’s forte, but with the pocketed coils and special material you find in the Purple Hybrid, it’s a different story.
I think it’s pretty good at isolating motion, even if it is a super-bouncy bed.
It is almost silent and your partner will not be able hear you. Purple Mattress Dealers
Purple Hybrid mattresses have firm foam at the edges that will hold you up if your body tends to lean towards the sides of the bed.
This is why I give the edge support capabilities of this mattress two thumbs up.
The other benefit of the Purple Grid besides bouncy comfort would have to be its temperature-regulating abilities. The Purple Grid is not made with any cooling material. Instead, its natural, breathable design makes it one the best mattresses for allowing airflow.
It doesn’t retain heat as memory foam and poly foam might. This makes it attractive to hot sleepers such as me, who require additional cooling. It’s not cold to the touch, but I really don’t feel hot while sleeping on the Purple. Purple Mattress Dealers
Purple Hybrid’s ideal positions for sleeping and body types
You wouldn’t expect to find the right size shirt at your favorite clothing shop, so don’t assume that every mattress will be accommodating.
Because there are so many choices, it is important to choose carefully. Your preferred position and body type will determine the perfect mattress. Purple Mattress Dealers
You can sleep in one of three primary positions: stomach, side, back or any combination. Purple Hybrids are best for stomach and back sleeping.
If you’re a side sleeper and really want the Purple Hybrid, I’d opt for one of the Purple Premier mattresses. These mattresses are softer than the standard hybrid model and will provide more relief for your shoulders and sides. Purple Mattress Dealers
Type of body
No matter what your body size, no matter how heavy or light, the Purple Hybrid bed will work for you.
Purple Hybrid mattress are great for anyone, as they provide more support than standard foam beds like Casper and Nectar. You will notice the layer of steel pocketed coils at the bottom. It is far more durable than foam. It will be noticeable how the mattress will perform over the years compared with an all foam mattress. Purple Mattress Dealers
The Purple Hybrid is more costly than the original Purple and may not be the best choice for those looking to spend as low as possible on a bed. If you’re looking for a way to improve your night’s rest, however, you might consider it a reasonable price.
Purple Hybrid mattresses are available in sizes ranging from twin XL to California King. Prices start at $1299 and go up until $1,899. Although they don’t often offer discounts on this bed, they might have a promotion that includes free sheets and pillows.
Purple Hybrid mattresses are made with metal coils and foam that provide support and softness.
