Purple Hybrid mattresses offer the same Purple feel but are more durable and supportive. Purple Mattress Covers
From the company that gave you Hyper-Elastic Polymer and the original Purple bed comes the big-and-sturdy Purple Hybrid mattresses. Purple actually offers three hybrid beds: the Purple Hybrid and the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 & 4. Below I will discuss the reasons you might choose one over another and whether they are worth the price. You will find out if Purple Hybrid mattresses are right for you.
Purple Hybrid (also known as the Purple 2) is the thinnest option of hybrids and measures only 11 inches thick. It’s firmer than the other models and is suitable for stomach and back sleepers. With that said, it’s the most affordable Purple Hybrid mattress.
The Purple Hybrid Premier formerly known under the name Purple 3 measures 12 inches thick. It has a thicker HyperElastic Polymer comfort level. This makes it feel a touch softer and it is around a medium-firm. Purple Mattress Covers
Purple Hybrid Premier 4 Purple Hybrid bed is the most costly, but it is thicker than all Purple hybrid beds and provides extra support. It’s similar to the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 and has a medium or medium-firm profile. We believe it would suit any body type.
Purple Hybrid Mattress Video Review
Purple Hybrid beds have purple details, which is great for those who love the color. The cover has premium details that give it a more luxurious look than the Purple flagship mattress. What does the Purple feel like?
It’s quite different than the innerspring mattress in Grandma’s guest room, and I will tell you that. This bed is an entirely new concept that I believe worked well for the company. Purple Mattress Covers
Purple Hybrid mattress firmness and feel
Purple Hybrid mattresses, regardless of which model you buy, are soft and airy. They don’t feel like foam. The purple squares can be felt under your fingertips if you move your hand along the mattress’s center.
It’s barely noticeable when you lie down. It just feels buoyant, like you’re floating in your hammock or on top of your head. However, the thick layer made of pocketed coils makes it extremely supportive.
Purple Hybrid 2 simultaneously relieves pressure and supports, but has a slightly firmer profile. This Purple Hybrid 2 is around a medium-firm or 7 out 10 on my firmness scale. While the soft squares aren’t pushed into your hips or shoulders if you lie sideways, they don’t feel like a typical firm mattress. However, my back and spine feel reinforced by the Hyper Elastic Polymer layer. I feel it is a touch firmer that the Original Purple.
If you aren’t open to exploring new ways of bedding but are curious about the Purple Hybrid then you may want to consider other options. But if you’re open to a mattress feel that takes pressure off your hips, shoulders and back while simultaneously making you feel weightless, you might be pleased with its benefits. Purple Hybrid Premier
The brand’s two hybrid beds at the top of the range have the same Purple feel. However they are slightly more softened by thicker layers hyper elastic polymer.
I think they both land in between a medium to medium-firm, or around a 6 on the firmness scale. Purple Mattress Covers
Purple Hybrid mattress construction
The Purple Hybrid has 4 layers and measures around 11 inches high. Below is a breakdown of each layer of the Purple Hybrid bed. This will give you an idea about what makes Purple and Purple.
A thin layer of basic foam, about one-inch thick, that supports the thick pocketed coil layers above.
A thick system of 7.5-inch pocketed coils, individually wrapped with fabric to help limit motion transfer across the mattress. It’s the main reason why this mattress is so supportive.
A thin half inch of foam to help neutralize any sensations caused by the pockets in the bed’s base.
The Hyper Elastic Polymer brand uses covers that are approximately 2 inches in height. These are laid out in a grid-like pattern. This is the main layer that differentiates it from the Purple Hybrid mattress. Each mattress has a different thickness. It is soft, bouncy and provides the majority of the Purple’s comfort.
Dense foam slabs surround the edges to give the sides a more solid and stable feel.
Purple’s StretchMax (or Extra-Stretchy) cover can be found on the top. It is more breathable that a typical mattress cover. I liken it more to an antisweat sports undergarment rather than a soft top made of cotton. Purple Mattress Covers
Purple Hybrid Premier mattress layers
The Purple Hybrid Premier mattress is the highest-rated option from the brand. The top layers are what really make the difference in construction.
Purple 3 has a layer 3 in. of Hyper-Elastic Polymer at top; Purple 4 has 4 in.
While it doesn’t make a significant difference in feel, they are more soft than the Purple Hybrid. Purple Mattress Covers
Motion isolation isn’t something innerspring beds are good at. But with the Purple Hybrid’s pocketsed coils as well as the special material inside, it’s an entirely different story.
I believe it’s quite effective at isolating motion even though it’s a super-bouncy mattress.
It makes almost no noise and you won’t be able to see your partner on the other side. Purple Mattress Covers
The Purple Hybrid mattresses are constructed with firm foam around the edges to hold your body up more firmly if you tend to creep towards the side of the bed during the night.
As a result, I give edge support capabilities on this mattress two enthusiastic thumbs up.
The other benefit of the Purple Grid besides bouncy comfort would have to be its temperature-regulating abilities. The Purple Grid has a natural breathable structure that allows for airflow.
It doesn’t retain heat as memory foam and poly foam might. This makes it attractive to hot sleepers such as me, who require additional cooling. Although it’s not cold, I don’t feel too hot when I sleep on the Purple. Purple Mattress Covers
Purple Hybrids’ ideal sleeping positions & body types
You wouldn’t expect to find the right size shirt at your favorite clothing shop, so don’t assume that every mattress will be accommodating.
This is especially true since there are so numerous options. Your body type and preferred position are the most important factors in choosing the right mattress. Purple Mattress Covers
The main sleeping positions are stomach, back, or side. I think the Purple Hybrid will work best for back and stomach sleepers.
If you are a side sleeper, the Purple Hybrid mattress would be a good choice. These mattresses are softer than the standard hybrid model and will provide more relief for your shoulders and sides. Purple Mattress Covers
Type of body
The Purple Hybrid beds are perfect for anyone, regardless of their body type.
Purple Hybrid mattresses work well for everyone because they offer more support than traditional foam beds such as Casper or Nectar. They are made with steel pocketed coils that sit on top of the mattress. This makes them more durable than traditional foam beds. You will notice a difference in the durability of this mattress over a period of 10 years compared to an all foam bed. Purple Mattress Covers
Purple Hybrids are more expensive than original Purples. They also tend to be less affordable for those who need to spend as little as possible on a brand new bed. It’s possible that you will see the Purple Hybrid as a reasonable cost if you are looking to make an investment in your sleep.
Purple Hybrid mattresses are available from twin XL up to California king. Prices start at $1299 and go up until $1,899. Although they don’t often offer discounts on this bed, they might have a promotion that includes free sheets and pillows.
Purple Hybrid mattress features metal coils wrapped in foam to provide support and softness.
