Purple Hybrid mattresses offer the same Purple feel but are more durable and supportive. Purple Mattress Complaints
The Purple Hybrid mattress is made by the same company that created Hyper-Elastic Polymer, the original Purple bed and the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 and 4. Purple actually has three types of hybrid beds. They are appropriately named the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 or 4 and the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 or 4. Below, I will explore the various reasons you may choose one over the others and whether the cost is worth it. Stick around to find out if a Purple Hybrid mattress is the right choice for you.
Purple Hybrid is also known as Purple 2 and is 11 inches thick. It’s firmer than the other models and is suitable for stomach and back sleepers. It’s also one of the most affordable Purple Hybrid mattresses.
The Purple Hybrid Premier, formerly known as Purple 3, is 12 inches thick with a thicker Hyper-Elastic Polymer comfort layer. This makes it feel a touch softer and it is around a medium-firm. Purple Mattress Complaints
Purple Hybrid Premier 4 Purple Hybrid hybrid bed is the most expensive, but it is 13 inches thicker and more supportive than the others. Like the Purple Hybrid Premier 3, it has a medium to medium-firm profile, and we think it would suit all body types.
Purple Hybrid Mattress Video Review
Purple Hybrids include purple details throughout the bed. This is a wonderful addition for anyone who loves the color. The details in the cover give it a premium look, and you can tell it’s a bit more heavy-duty than the flagship Purple mattress. The main thing people want to know about this mattress is what does the Purple feel like?
Well, it’s completely different from the innerspring mattress in the guest room at Grandma’s, I’ll tell you that much. It’s a completely new design for a bed and it ended up working in the company’s favor. Purple Mattress Complaints
Purple Hybrid mattress firmness/feel
Purple Hybrid mattresses, regardless of which model you buy, are soft and airy. They don’t feel like foam. Feel the squishy, squared shapes underneath the mattress by running your fingers along its center.
While it’s not obvious when you lay down, it feels like you’re floating on the back of a hammock or on your stomach. The thick layer pocketsed coils make it really supportive, which I’ll explain below.
Purple Hybrid 2 simultaneously provides pressure relief and support, while also maintaining a firmer profile. I believe it to be around a medium firm, or 7 on the firmness scale. The soft squares don’t push into your hips and shoulders when you’re on your side like your typical firm bed, but my back and spine feel very reinforced above the bed’s Hyper-Elastic Polymer layer. I like it a bit more firm than the Original Purple.
The Purple Hybrid is a great option if you don’t want to experiment with other bedding styles. If you are open to the idea of a mattress that relieves pressure from your hips, shoulders, and back, while also making you feel light, this might be a good choice for you. Purple Mattress Complaints
Purple Hybrid Premier
The brand’s two upper-level hybrid beds have the same signature Purple feel, but they have a slightly softer profile because of their thicker layers of Hyper-Elastic Polymer.
I think they both land in between a medium to medium-firm, or around a 6 on the firmness scale. Purple Mattress Complaints
Construction of Purple Hybrid mattresses
The Purple Hybrid has four layers and is approximately 11 inches high. This is a quick breakdown of the layers of the Purple Hybrid to give you an idea of what makes Purple, Purple.
A thin layer of basic foam, about one-inch thick, that supports the thick pocketed coil layers above.
The mattress has a thick system made of 7.5-inch pockets coils. Each coil is individually wrapped in fabric to reduce motion transfer. It’s the main reason why this mattress is so supportive.
A thin, half-inch of foam is used to neutralize the sensation of the bed’s foundation.
The Hyper-Elastic polymer of the brand is 2 inches thick. It’s laid out in a grid structure. This layer is what distinguishes the Purple Hybrid mattress from the others. Each mattress’s thickness varies. It is soft, bouncy and provides the majority of the Purple’s comfort.
The dense foam slabs that surround the edges make the sides more sturdy and supportive.
On top is the Purple’s “StretchMax” cover, and just like the name implies, it’s extra-stretchy. It feels more breathable than traditional mattress covers. I compare it to an athletic antisweat top rather than a soft cotton one. Purple Mattress Complaints
Purple Hybrid Premier mattress layers
The Purple Hybrid Premier mattress is the highest-rated option from the brand. The only difference in construction is the top layers.
Purple 3 has a layer of Hyper elastic Polymer at its top that measures 3 inches, while Purple 4 has 4 inches.
The Purple Hybrid is softer than these, although they don’t feel any different. Purple Mattress Complaints
Motion isolation isn’t something innerspring beds are good at. But with the Purple Hybrid’s pocketsed coils as well as the special material inside, it’s an entirely different story.
It seems to be quite capable of isolating motion, even though it is very bouncy.
It makes almost no noise and you won’t be able to see your partner on the other side. Purple Mattress Complaints
Purple Hybrid mattresses include firm foam on the edges. If you are prone to slipping during the night, the Purple Hybrid will keep you more secure.
So, I give this mattress the enthusiastic thumbs up for edge support.
The other benefit of the Purple Grid besides bouncy comfort would have to be its temperature-regulating abilities. The Purple Grid is not made with any cooling material. Instead, its natural, breathable design makes it one the best mattresses for allowing airflow.
It doesn’t retain heat as memory foam and poly foam might. This makes it attractive to hot sleepers such as me, who require additional cooling. Although it’s not cold, I don’t feel too hot when I sleep on the Purple. Purple Mattress Complaints
Purple Hybrid’s best sleeping positions and body types
You wouldn’t expect every size shirt to fit at your local clothing store.
Because there are so many choices, it is important to choose carefully. Your body type and preferred position are the most important factors in choosing the right mattress. Purple Mattress Complaints
There are three main sleeping positions: side, stomach or back. Purple Hybrids are best for stomach and back sleeping.
If you are a side sleeper, the Purple Hybrid mattress would be a good choice. They are a bit softer and more pressure-relieving than the standard hybrid model, which will be more of a benefit to your sides and shoulders. Purple Mattress Complaints
Type of body
No matter your body type, no matter if you are 105 lbs or 250 lbs, the Purple Hybrid Beds will suit you perfectly.
Purple Hybrid mattress are great for anyone, as they provide more support than standard foam beds like Casper and Nectar. The bottom layer is made of steel coils with pockets. Steel is more durable than foam. The difference in how this mattress will hold up over time compared to an all-foam bed will be especially noticeable over the course of 10 years. Purple Mattress Complaints
Purple Hybrids are more expensive than original Purples. They also tend to be less affordable for those who need to spend as little as possible on a brand new bed. If you’re looking for a way to improve your night’s rest, however, you might consider it a reasonable price.
Purple Hybrid mattresses are available from twin XL up to California king. The prices start at $1,299, and can go up to $1,899. They don’t usually run discounts for this bed, but they may have a promotion going for free sheets or pillows with your purchase.
Purple Hybrid mattresses have metal coils that are encased with foam for support and softness.
