First impressions

Purple Hybrid mattress firmness/feel
No matter which model you choose, Purple Hybrid mattresses feel soft and airy but not like foam. You can feel the soft, squishy corners of the mattress bend and transform underneath if you place your hand on the middle.
It is not noticeable when you lay down. You just feel like you’re floating over your back or on a hammock. Though, it’s also really supportive because of the thick layer of pocketed coils, which I’ll explain more below.
The Purple Hybrid 2 simultaneously feels supportive and pressure-relieving, but it also has a slightly firmer profile. It’s 7/10 on the firmness scale. The soft squares do not press into your hips and shoulders, unlike a traditional firm bed. But my back and spine feel extremely reinforced thanks to the Hyper-Elastic polymer layer. I like it a bit more firm than the Original Purple.

Construction of Purple Hybrid mattresses
Purple Hybrids come in three versions, each with a different layer of Purple Grid gel.
The Purple Hybrid’s four layers are approximately 11 inches in height and has four layers. Below is a breakdown of each layer of the Purple Hybrid bed. This will give you an idea about what makes Purple and Purple.
A thin slab about an inch thick of basic foam that supports the thick pocketed coil layer.
To limit motion transfer, the mattress features a thick system of 7.5-inch pocketsed coils that are individually wrapped with fabric. This is the reason this mattress is so supportive.
To neutralize the feeling of the coils within the foundation of the bed, add a thin 1/2 inch of foam.
2 inches of Hyper-Elastic Pomer from the brand, laid out in grid formation. This is the main layer which distinguishes it the Purple Hybrid mattresses. Every mattress has a different thickness. It is soft, bouncy, and provides the most comfort of the Purple.
Surrounding the edges are dense foam slabs to make the sides feel more supportive and sturdy.
On top is the Purple’s “StretchMax” cover, and just like the name implies, it’s extra-stretchy. I think it feels more breathable than your typical mattress cover and compare the feel more to an athletic antisweat undergarment than a soft cotton top. Purple Mattress Cancer

Purple Hybrid Premier mattress layers
The Purple Hybrid Premier mattress is the highest-rated option from the brand. The top layers are what really make the difference in construction.
Purple 3 has a layer 3 in. of Hyper-Elastic Polymer at top; Purple 4 has 4 in.

Motion isolation
Motion isolation is not a common feature of innerspring beds, but the Purple Hybrid offers a different approach with its pocketed coils.
It is quite good at isolating movement, even though it is super-bouncy.

Edge support
Purple Hybrid mattresses feature firm foam around the edges. This is to prevent you from slipping on the edges of the mattress.
So, I give this mattress the enthusiastic thumbs up for edge support.
Temperature
The other benefit of the Purple Grid besides bouncy comfort would have to be its temperature-regulating abilities. The Purple Grid is not made with any cooling material. Instead, its natural, breathable design makes it one the best mattresses for allowing airflow.
