First impressions
Purple Hybrids feature purple detailing throughout their beds, which is a nice touch for those who are passionate about the color. Its premium appearance is due to the high-quality cover. The most important thing people want to learn about this mattress is how it feels.

Purple Hybrid mattress firmness/feel
Regardless of the model you get, the Purple Hybrid mattresses are soft and airy without feeling like foam. When you run your hand down the center of the mattress, you can feel the squishy squares bend and morph underneath.
It isn’t noticeable when you lie down. Instead, you feel buoyant and like you are floating on your back or in a hammock. The thick layer pocketsed coils make it really supportive, which I’ll explain below.
The Purple Hybrid 2 simultaneously feels pressure-relieving and supportive, while maintaining a slightly firmer profile; I think it’s around a medium-firm, or 7 out of 10 on the firmness scale. While the soft squares aren’t pushed into your hips or shoulders if you lie sideways, they don’t feel like a typical firm mattress. Purple Hybrid comes as three different models. Each model has a different thickness Purple Grid gel layer.
The Purple Hybrid has 4 layers and measures around 11 inches high. Below is a breakdown of each layer of the Purple Hybrid bed. This will give you an idea about what makes Purple and Purple.
A thin slab about an inch thick of basic foam that supports the thick pocketed coil layer.
The mattress has a thick system made of 7.5-inch pockets coils. Each coil is individually wrapped in fabric to reduce motion transfer. It’s the main reason why this mattress is so supportive.
A thin layer of foam about a quarter inch thick to neutralize the effect of the mattress’s foundation.
2 inches of Hyper-Elastic Pomer from the brand, laid out in grid formation. This is the main layer that differentiates it from the Purple Hybrid mattress. Each mattress has a different thickness. It’s bouncy, squishy, soft and provides most of the Purple’s comfort.
To give the sides more support and stability, dense foam slabs are placed around the edges.

Motion isolation isn’t something innerspring beds are good at. But with the Purple Hybrid’s pocketsed coils as well as the special material inside, it’s an entirely different story.
