The Purple Hybrid mattress delivers the same signature Purple feel, but with a more durable and supportive construction. Purple Mattress Box Spring
The Purple Hybrid mattress is made by the same company that created Hyper-Elastic Polymer, the original Purple bed and the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 and 4. Purple actually offers three hybrid beds: the Purple Hybrid and the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 & 4. Below I will explain why you might prefer one to the other and how they compare with the rest. Find out if a Purple Hybrid Mattress is right for you.
Purple Hybrid, also called the Purple 2, is the thinnest hybrid option and measures in at 11 inches. It is also firmer and more suitable for stomach, back, or stomach sleepers than the two other models. It is also the most affordable Purple Hybrid model.
The Purple Hybrid Premier (formerly Purple 3) is 12 inches in thickness with a thicker Hyper elastic Polymer comfort layer. This makes it feel a bit softer and lands around a medium to medium-firm on the scale. Purple Mattress Box Spring
Purple Hybrid Premier 4 Purple Hybrid bed is the most costly, but it is thicker than all Purple hybrid beds and provides extra support. It’s similar to the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 and has a medium or medium-firm profile. We believe it would suit any body type.
Purple Hybrid Mattress Video Review
Purple Hybrids feature purple detailing throughout their beds, which is a nice touch for those who are passionate about the color. Its premium appearance is due to the high-quality cover. The most important thing people want to learn about this mattress is how it feels.
It’s quite different than the innerspring mattress in Grandma’s guest room, and I will tell you that. It’s a new concept for a bed that I think ended up working in the company’s favor. Purple Mattress Box Spring
Purple Hybrid mattress firmness/feel
Regardless of the model you get, the Purple Hybrid mattresses are soft and airy without feeling like foam. When you run your hand down the center of the mattress, you can feel the squishy squares bend and morph underneath.
It isn’t noticeable when you lie down. Instead, you feel buoyant and like you are floating on your back or in a hammock. The thick layer pocketsed coils make it really supportive, which I’ll explain below.
The Purple Hybrid 2 simultaneously feels pressure-relieving and supportive, while maintaining a slightly firmer profile; I think it’s around a medium-firm, or 7 out of 10 on the firmness scale. While the soft squares aren’t pushed into your hips or shoulders if you lie sideways, they don’t feel like a typical firm mattress. However, my back and spine feel reinforced by the Hyper Elastic Polymer layer. It’s firmer than the Original Purple mattress.
If you’re interested in the Purple Hybrid but don’t have the time or desire to explore other types of bedding, it might be worth looking elsewhere. The Purple Hybrid might be for you if it offers a mattress feel that is both supportive and light on the hips, shoulders and back. Purple Mattress Box Spring
Purple Hybrid Premier
The brand’s two highest-level hybrid beds feature the same Purple feel. However, they have a slightly softer profile due to thicker layers made of Hyper-Elastic Pomer.
Both of them fall in the middle to mid-firm range, or roughly a 6 on our firmness scale. Purple Mattress Box Spring
Purple Hybrid Mattress Construction
The Purple Hybrid has 4 layers and measures around 11 inches high. Below is a breakdown of each layer of the Purple Hybrid bed. This will give you an idea about what makes Purple and Purple.
A thin slab about an inch thick of basic foam that supports the thick pocketed coil layer.
The mattress has a thick system made of 7.5-inch pockets coils. Each coil is individually wrapped in fabric to reduce motion transfer. It’s the main reason why this mattress is so supportive.
A thin layer of foam about a quarter inch thick to neutralize the effect of the mattress’s foundation.
2 inches of Hyper-Elastic Pomer from the brand, laid out in grid formation. This is the main layer that differentiates it from the Purple Hybrid mattress. Each mattress has a different thickness. It’s bouncy, squishy, soft and provides most of the Purple’s comfort.
To give the sides more support and stability, dense foam slabs are placed around the edges.
Purple’s StretchMax Cover is on the top. It’s very stretchy, just as its name suggests. It feels more breathable and breathable then a standard mattress cover. Purple Mattress Box Spring
Purple Hybrid Premier mattress layers
The Purple Hybrid Premier mattress is the highest-rated option from the brand. Only the top layers make up the main difference in construction.
The Purple 3 has a 3-inch layer of Hyper-Elastic Polymer at the top, while Purple 4 has 4 inches.
Although they feel the same, it does not make a big difference in their feel. Purple Mattress Box Spring
Motion isolation isn’t something innerspring beds are good at. But with the Purple Hybrid’s pocketsed coils as well as the special material inside, it’s an entirely different story.
I think it’s pretty good at isolating motion, even if it is a super-bouncy bed.
It is almost silent and your partner will not be able hear you. Purple Mattress Box Spring
Purple Hybrid mattresses have firm foam at the edges that will hold you up if your body tends to lean towards the sides of the bed.
This mattress has edge support capabilities that I am happy to give two thumbs up.
The other benefit of the Purple Grid besides bouncy comfort would have to be its temperature-regulating abilities. The Purple Grid doesn’t have any cooling materials, but its natural breathable design makes them one of the best mattresses to allow airflow.
It doesn’t retain heat as memory foam and poly foam might. This makes it attractive to hot sleepers such as me, who require additional cooling. The Purple is not cold to my skin, but it doesn’t make me feel hot. Purple Mattress Box Spring
Purple Hybrid’s best sleeping positions and body types
You wouldn’t expect that you would fit into every size shirt at your favorite clothes store.
You have so many options. Generally, your perfect mattress comes down to your body type and your favorite position to sleep in. Purple Mattress Box Spring
The primary sleeping positions are side, stomach, back or a combination of them all. I think the Purple Hybrid will work best for back and stomach sleepers.
The Purple Premier mattress is the best option for side sleepers. These mattresses are slightly softer and less pressure-relieving than standard hybrid models, which will benefit your shoulders and sides more. Purple Mattress Box Spring
Type of body
The Purple Hybrid beds can be used regardless of body weight, so no matter what size you are, they will fit you perfectly.
Purple Hybrid mattresses work well for everyone because they offer more support than traditional foam beds such as Casper or Nectar. The bottom layer is made of steel coils with pockets. Steel is more durable than foam. The difference in how this mattress will hold up over time compared to an all-foam bed will be especially noticeable over the course of 10 years. The Purple Hybrid is more costly than the original Purple and may not be the best choice for those looking to spend as low as possible on a bed. If you’re looking for a way to improve your night’s rest, however, you might consider it a reasonable price.
Purple Hybrid mattresses are available in sizes ranging from twin XL to California King. The prices start at $1,299, and can go up to $1,899. The bed is not usually discounted, but there may be a promotion for free sheets or pillows.
Purple Hybrid mattress features metal coils wrapped in foam to provide support and softness.
