Purple Hybrid mattress offers the same Purple feel as its predecessor, but is more durable and supports your body. Purple Mattress Ad
The Purple Hybrid mattress is made by the same company that created Hyper-Elastic Polymer, the original Purple bed and the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 and 4. Purple actually offers three hybrid beds: the Purple Hybrid and the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 & 4. Below, I will explore the various reasons you may choose one over the others and whether the cost is worth it. Continue reading to learn if a Purple Hybrid is right for your needs.
Purple Hybrid, also called the Purple 2, is the thinnest hybrid option and measures in at 11 inches. It is also firmer and more suitable for stomach, back, or stomach sleepers than the two other models. It is also the most affordable Purple Hybrid model.
The Purple Hybrid Premier (formerly Purple 3) is 12 inches in thickness with a thicker Hyper elastic Polymer comfort layer. This makes the Purple Hybrid Premier feel a bit more soft and places it around a medium to moderate-firm scale. Purple Mattress Ad
Purple Hybrid Premier 4 Purple Hybrid hybrid bed is the most expensive, but it is 13 inches thicker and more supportive than the others. It’s similar to the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 and has a medium or medium-firm profile. We believe it would suit any body type.
Purple Hybrid Mattress Video Review
Purple Hybrids feature purple detailing throughout their beds, which is a nice touch for those who are passionate about the color. The cover has premium details that give it a more luxurious look than the Purple flagship mattress. What does the Purple feel like?
It is completely different from Grandma’s innerspring mattress, I’ll be honest. This is a novel concept for a bed, and I believe it worked in the company’s favor. Purple Mattress Ad
Purple Hybrid mattress firmness, feel and feel
No matter which model you choose, Purple Hybrid mattresses feel soft and airy but not like foam. Feel the squishy, squared shapes underneath the mattress by running your fingers along its center.
While it’s not obvious when you lay down, it feels like you’re floating on the back of a hammock or on your stomach. It’s very supportive due to the thick layer pocketed coils. I’ll explain this further below.
The Purple Hybrid 2 simultaneously feels pressure-relieving and supportive, while maintaining a slightly firmer profile; I think it’s around a medium-firm, or 7 out of 10 on the firmness scale. While the soft squares aren’t pushed into your hips or shoulders if you lie sideways, they don’t feel like a typical firm mattress. However, my back and spine feel reinforced by the Hyper Elastic Polymer layer. I think it’s a tad bit firmer than the Original Purple mattress.
You might be interested in the Purple Hybrid, but aren’t ready to try out new bedding options. If you are open to the idea of a mattress that relieves pressure from your hips, shoulders, and back, while also making you feel light, this might be a good choice for you. Purple Mattress Ad
Purple Hybrid Premier
The brand’s two hybrid beds at the top of the range have the same Purple feel. However they are slightly more softened by thicker layers hyper elastic polymer.
They are between medium and medium-firm. I would say they’re about 6 on the firmness spectrum. Purple Mattress Ad
Purple Hybrid Mattress Construction
The Purple Hybrid has 4 layers and measures around 11 inches high. Let’s take a look at the layers of this bed to get an idea of how Purple and Purple are made.
A thin slab of basic foam about an inch thick, which supports the thick pocketed coil layer above.
The mattress has a thick system made of 7.5-inch pockets coils. Each coil is individually wrapped in fabric to reduce motion transfer. This is the reason this mattress is so supportive.
A thin, half-inch of foam is used to neutralize the sensation of the bed’s foundation.
The brand’s Hyper-Elastic Polymer is approximately 2 inches thick, laid out in a grid pattern. This is the main layer which distinguishes it the Purple Hybrid mattresses. Every mattress has a different thickness. It’s soft, bouncy, and provides most Purple Hybrid’s comfort.
To give the sides more support and stability, dense foam slabs are placed around the edges.
Purple’s StretchMax (or Extra-Stretchy) cover can be found on the top. It is more breathable that a typical mattress cover. I liken it more to an antisweat sports undergarment rather than a soft top made of cotton. Purple Mattress Ad
Purple Hybrid Premier mattress layers
The Purple Hybrid Premier mattress is the highest-rated option from the brand. The top layers of construction are the only significant differences.
The Purple 3 has a 3-inch layer of Hyper-Elastic Polymer at the top, while Purple 4 has 4 inches.
They are slightly softer than the Purple Hybrid, although it doesn’t make much difference in feel. Purple Mattress Ad
Although motion isolation is not usually an innerspring bed’s strength, the Purple Hybrid’s pocketed coils, special material, and other features make it a unique story.
I think it’s pretty good at isolating motion, even if it is a super-bouncy bed.
It virtually makes no noise, and you’ll hardly be able to notice your partner moving around on the other side. Purple Mattress Ad
Purple Hybrid mattresses include firm foam on the edges. If you are prone to slipping during the night, the Purple Hybrid will keep you more secure.
So, I give this mattress the enthusiastic thumbs up for edge support.
The other benefit of the Purple Grid besides bouncy comfort would have to be its temperature-regulating abilities. The Purple Grid has a natural breathable structure that allows for airflow.
It doesn’t retain heat as memory foam and poly foam might. This makes it attractive to hot sleepers such as me, who require additional cooling. Purple isn’t cold to the touch but I don’t feel hot sleeping on it. Purple Mattress Ad
Purple Hybrid’s ideal sleeping positions and body types
You wouldn’t expect to fit in every shirt size at your favorite clothing store, and you shouldn’t assume every mattress is accommodating for you.
This is especially true since there are so numerous options. Your body type and preferred position are the most important factors in choosing the right mattress. Purple Mattress Ad
The primary sleeping positions are side, stomach, back or a combination of them all. Purple Hybrids are best for stomach and back sleeping.
I would recommend the Purple Premier mattresses to side sleepers who really want the Purple Hybrid. They are slightly more comfortable and relieve pressure than the standard hybrid mattress, which will be a plus for your shoulders. Purple Mattress Ad
Type of body
The Purple Hybrid beds are perfect for anyone, regardless of their body type.
Purple Hybrid mattress are great for anyone, as they provide more support than standard foam beds like Casper and Nectar. The mattress has a layer of steel-pocketed coils in the bottom. Steel is much more durable that foam. Over the next 10 years, you will see a significant difference in how this mattress holds up to time compared with an all-foam mattress. Purple Mattress Ad
The Purple Hybrid is more costly than the original Purple and may not be the best choice for those looking to spend as low as possible on a bed. You might find it reasonable if you want to invest in your nights of sleep.
Purple Hybrid mattresses are available in sizes ranging from twin XL to California King. Prices start from $1,299 and can go all the way to $1.899. Although they don’t often offer discounts on this bed, they might have a promotion that includes free sheets and pillows.
The Purple Hybrid mattress has metal coils encased in foam to offer support and softness.
