Purple Hybrid mattresses have the same Purple feel, but with a more sturdy and supportive construction. My Purple Mattress
Purple Hybrid Mattresses are made by the same company as Hyper-Elastic Polyester and the original Purple Bed. Purple actually offers three hybrid beds: the Purple Hybrid and the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 & 4. Below, I will explore the various reasons you may choose one over the others and whether the cost is worth it. Find out if a Purple Hybrid Mattress is right for you.
Purple Hybrid is also known as Purple 2 and is 11 inches thick. It’s firmer than the other models and is suitable for stomach and back sleepers. It’s also one of the most affordable Purple Hybrid mattresses.
The Purple Hybrid Premier (formerly Purple 3) is 12 inches in thickness with a thicker Hyper elastic Polymer comfort layer. This makes it feel a touch softer and it is around a medium-firm. My Purple Mattress
Purple Hybrid Premier 4 Purple Hybrid Hybrid is the most expensive Purple hybrid bed, but it’s also thicker (13 inches) and offers extra support. It has a medium-firm profile and would be suitable for all body types, just like the Purple Hybrid Premier 3.
Purple Hybrid Mattress Video Review
The Purple Hybrid incorporates purple detailing throughout the bed, a great touch for an avid lover of the color. It’s more luxurious than the Purple Hybrid mattress, thanks to the premium cover. The most important thing people want to learn about this mattress is how it feels.
It is completely different from Grandma’s innerspring mattress, I’ll be honest. It’s an innovative concept for a mattress that I think worked in the company’s favor. My Purple Mattress
Purple Hybrid mattress firmness and feel
Regardless of the model you get, the Purple Hybrid mattresses are soft and airy without feeling like foam. Feel the squishy, squared shapes underneath the mattress by running your fingers along its center.
It isn’t noticeable when you lie down. Instead, you feel buoyant and like you are floating on your back or in a hammock. The thick layer of pocketsed coils underneath makes it very supportive.
Purple Hybrid 2 feels simultaneously supportive and pressure-relieving. However, it has a slightly firmer profile. Although the soft squares won’t press into your hips or shoulders when you lie on your back, my spine and back feel reinforced by the Hyper-Elastic Polymer layer. It’s firmer than the Original Purple mattress.
You might be interested in the Purple Hybrid, but aren’t ready to try out new bedding options. You might be happy with the benefits of the Purple Hybrid if you are open-minded to a mattress feeling that reduces pressure on your hips and shoulders while making you feel lighter. My Purple Mattress
Purple Hybrid Premier
The brand’s two upper-level hybrid beds have the same signature Purple feel, but they have a slightly softer profile because of their thicker layers of Hyper-Elastic Polymer.
I believe they are both medium-firms, or approximately a 6, on the firmness scale. My Purple Mattress
Purple Hybrid Mattress Construction
The Purple Hybrid is four layers thick and around 11 inches tall. Let’s take a look at the layers of this bed to get an idea of how Purple and Purple are made.
A thin slab of basic Foam about an inch in thickness, which supports the thick pocketed coil above.
To limit motion transfer, the mattress features a thick system of 7.5-inch pocketsed coils that are individually wrapped with fabric. It’s the main reason why this mattress is so supportive.
A thin, half-inch of foam is used to neutralize the sensation of the bed’s foundation.
The Hyper-Elastic polymer of the brand is 2 inches thick. It’s laid out in a grid structure. This is the layer that makes it different from the Purple Hybrids. Each mattress has an individual thickness. It’s soft, bouncy, and provides most Purple Hybrid’s comfort.
To give the sides more support and stability, dense foam slabs are placed around the edges.
On top is the Purple’s “StretchMax” cover, and just like the name implies, it’s extra-stretchy. It is more breathable that a typical mattress cover. I liken it more to an antisweat sports undergarment rather than a soft top made of cotton. My Purple Mattress
Purple Hybrid Premier mattress layers
The two Purple Hybrid Premier beds are the top-tier mattress options from the brand. The top layers are what really make the difference in construction.
Purple 3 has a layer of Hyper elastic Polymer at its top that measures 3 inches, while Purple 4 has 4 inches.
The Purple Hybrid is softer than these, although they don’t feel any different. My Purple Mattress
Motion isolation is not a common feature of innerspring beds, but the Purple Hybrid offers a different approach with its pocketed coils.
It seems to be quite capable of isolating motion, even though it is very bouncy.
It virtually makes no noise, and you’ll hardly be able to notice your partner moving around on the other side. My Purple Mattress
Purple Hybrid mattresses include firm foam on the edges. If you are prone to slipping during the night, the Purple Hybrid will keep you more secure.
This is why I give the edge support capabilities of this mattress two thumbs up.
The other benefit of the Purple Grid besides bouncy comfort would have to be its temperature-regulating abilities. The Purple Grid is not made with any cooling material. Instead, its natural, breathable design makes it one the best mattresses for allowing airflow.
It doesn’t retain heat like memory or poly foam, which makes it more appealing for hot sleepers like myself who need additional cooling. Purple is not cold but it does not feel hot. My Purple Mattress
Purple Hybrid’s perfect sleeping positions and body types
You wouldn’t expect to find the right size shirt at your favorite clothing shop, so don’t assume that every mattress will be accommodating.
Especially since there are so many different options to pick from. Your body type and preferred position are the most important factors in choosing the right mattress. My Purple Mattress
There are three main sleeping positions: side, stomach or back. Purple Hybrids will be most suitable for stomach and back sleepers.
If you’re a side sleeper and really want the Purple Hybrid, I’d opt for one of the Purple Premier mattresses. These mattresses are softer than the standard hybrid model and will provide more relief for your shoulders and sides. My Purple Mattress
Type of body
The Purple Hybrid beds are perfect for anyone, regardless of their body type.
Purple Hybrid mattresses can be used by all body types as they are more supportive of traditional foam beds like Casper or Nectar. The bottom layer is made of steel coils with pockets. Steel is more durable than foam. You will notice a difference in the durability of this mattress over a period of 10 years compared to an all foam bed. My Purple Mattress
The Purple Hybrid bed is more expensive than the original Purple. This is not a good option for those who want to spend as little money as possible on a new mattress. The Purple Hybrid is a good choice if your goal is to invest in your evening’s sleep.
Purple Hybrid mattresses can be purchased in sizes from twinXL to California queen. Prices start at $1299 and go up to $1899. Although they don’t often offer discounts on this bed, they might have a promotion that includes free sheets and pillows.
Purple Hybrid mattress features metal coils wrapped in foam to provide support and softness.
Purple’s shipping, trial and warranty
Every online mattress company tries to sweeten the deal with a few extra perks to make buying more worth your while, including shipping and a sleep trial. My Purple Mattress
Shipping is free to your front door. However, the type and cost of shipping will vary depending on the bed that you buy. You’ll receive standard shipping free of charge if you buy a Purple Hybrid. For the Purple Hybrid Premier beds, you’ll actually get free white-glove delivery, and they’ll set up your mattress in-home for you.
You’ll have 100 nights to check out your bed. If after night 99, your bed is not what you expected, you will be eligible for a full return. Purple provides a 10-year limited warranty for mattresses that are defective from the manufacturer.
