Helix Mattress Firmness and Feel
You might have noticed that stiffness is already mentioned throughout this article. It’s because one of most crucial elements to consider when shopping for a new mattress is firmness (and how it affects the comfort). These elements will reveal a lot about a mattress’s suitability for your chosen sleep place (s). Let’s have a look at the firmness and feel that comes with the Helix mattress series.
What Is the Firmness of Helix Mattresses?
The Helix mattresses are available in a range of different hardness options, with the softest being moderately soft, and the most firm ones being moderately firm. Helix Sunset Helix Sunset is on the soft side of the spectrum and we evaluated it with a score at 5.5 out of 10 on the scale of firmness. (A 6.5/10 is considered to be an industry standard for medium firmness.) Its Helix Midnight is next, and we gave it a 6/10 which means that it’s more soft than the norm. The Helix Midnight as well as the Helix Dusk fall somewhere between the spectrum. Both of these mattresses scored approximately a 7/10, which is slightly heavier than average. They are Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn are on the harder end of the spectrum, each receiving an 7.5/10 assessment (firmer than the average).
It’s important to keep in mind that the degree of firmness is a personal preference. If you’re looking for the firmness, you could evaluate these mattresses in different ways based on your body weight and personal preferences. People who are heavier, for instance might find them firmer since they can press deeper into the mattress and reach the support layers. On the other hand, people who weigh less be surprised to find these mattresses more supple due to their position on the comfort level of every bed(s).
Sleeping on the Helix Mattresses
We slept on Helix mattress for a lengthy period in order to get a clear picture of the experience it’s like to rest on each model in different positions. Check out what we discovered!
Helix Sunset Mattress
Because of its softness, due to its softness, the Helix Sunset was not comfortable enough to be a good back sleeper. Our hips were a bit too deeply in the bed, causing the spine to become misaligned.
Although the Helix Sunset’s gentleness isn’t the best for back sleepers It’s perfect for those who sleep on their sides. We were really comfortable in this position because the mattress’s softness cushioned any tension points in the hip and shoulder. In fact, it’s one of the greatest mattresses for hip discomfort that we’ve come across.
It is apparent that the Helix Sunset is not supportive enough for stomach sleep due to its softness. Our hips fell too far into the mattress which pulled our spine out of alignment, just as they did when we were asleep back.
Helix Moonlight Mattress
As a back sleeper, it was apparent that the Helix Moonlight was adequate but not outstanding. If you plan on sleeping in this position for the entire night, you’ll almost certainly want a firmer mattress that offers more support and assists in maintaining appropriate spinal alignment.
The Helix Moonlight is an excellent choice for side sleeping due to its softness. There was no unwelcome pressure around the hips or shoulders.
It is the Helix Moonlight, like the Helix Sunset, is not adequate for stomach-sleeping. Our hips fell too deeply in the mattress which caused the spine to shift.
Helix Midnight Mattress
When we lay down upon the Helix Midnight, we felt fantastic. We felt a little pressure relief without sacrificing spinal alignment thanks to the mattress’s good combination of support and comfort. It is the greatest mattress for back sleepers that we have reviewed on this list.
Although the Helix Midnight is more firm than Helix Sunset and Moonlight, it is still a good mattress. Helix Sunset as well as Moonlight and Moonlight, we were able to rest comfortably on our backs on the mattress. It is a good pressure-relief mattress around the shoulder and hip in our opinion.
While stomach sleeping on the Helix Midnight, we were good , but not fantastic. If you sleep in this way all night long should look for an extra firm mattress that offers more spinal support.
Helix Dusk Mattress
It’s the Helix Dusk is more supportive than other mattresses we’ve tried, which could explain why we felt so at ease while sleeping in our backs. We’re certain that we’ll enjoy good spinal alignment throughout the night because of the mattress’s suppleness.
It’s likely not a surprise it is that Helix Dusk feels a little too firm for side sleeping since we’ve shifted to the more firm end on the scale. We felt some pressure around the shoulder and hip that could cause discomfort if you were to sleep in this position all night.
The Helix Dusk should suit stomach sleepers who weigh around average since it can help to maintain a healthy spine alignment. However, heavier stomach sleepers might not get sufficient support.
Helix Twilight Mattress
The Helix Twilight was proved to be the best mattress for back pain. It is ideal for those who require additional support owing to increased weight back pain, other factors. The firmer structure of this mattress assists in keeping hips lifted and properly aligned with the spine.
Because this mattress Helix Twilight is on the firmer side We found it hard to sleep on our sides on the mattress. We felt as if we were being suffocated by the shoulders and hips.
The majority of stomach sleepers will find the Helix Twilight to be a good one, as the mattress’ hardness should give enough spinal support in this position.
Helix Dawn Mattress
The Helix Dawn is far too difficult to sleep on side and you’ll be left with a lot of pressure points in your hips and shoulders. A softer model will be much more suitable for sleepers who prefer side sleeping.
The Helix Dawn mattress is considered to be the greatest mattress for stomach sleepers, in our opinions. In the evening, this firm and supportive mattress will keep your hips up and aligned in alignment with your spine.
What Do the Helix Mattresses Feel Like?
Helix mattresses all have a hybrid structure that has foam layers over coils. Despite these commonalities every model has its own distinct personality.
The Helix Sunset offers a soft top and a well-balanced foam feel. The soft comfort layer allows sleepers to relax and gives the mattress the feeling of a slow-moving.
It is worth noting that the Helix Moonlight, despite its softness, has a bouncy feeling, particularly when compared to the Sunset one, which is more sensitive.
The Helix Midnight, like it’s predecessor, the Helix Sunset, has a smooth, even texture and slower-moving upper layer. The Midnight is more firm than the Sunset and allows sleepers to sink further in the upper layer.
The Helix Dusk is solid and bouncy. This is due to the use dynamic foam in the top layer, and coils in the supporting layer.
It is similar to the Helix Twilight, like the Helix Sunset and Midnight, has a more sluggish top. It’s still a solid mattress, with the comfort layer being slightly more comfortable.
The Helix Dawn, like the Helix Dusk, has a soft, firm and bouncy feel it because of the use of dynamic foam (in the cushion layer) along with coils (in the support layer).
Average Weight Sleepers – 130 lbs – 230 lbs
Helix Midnight (which is a combination of pressure reduction and spinal support) or the Helix Midnight (which combines spinal support with pressure reduction) or Helix Dusk (which combines pressure reduction and spinal support) or Helix Dusk are likely to be preferred by average-weight back sleepers (which provides a more firmer spine support).
The Helix Midnight (if you prefer a slightly harder sensation) or the more comfortable and more pressure-reducing Helix Moonlight and Sunset are more likely for side sleepers of average weight.
Finally, stomach sleepers with a moderate weight should choose the supportive Helix Twilight or Dawn.
Heavyweight Sleepers – Over 230lbs
The Helix Dusk should provide appropriate support for heavyweight back sleepers because it eases pressure and maintains the alignment of the spine.
The most soft models of the Helix range, such as Helix Moonlight or Helix Moonlight or Helix Sunset will provide enough pressure relief for heavier side sleepers.
For stomach sleepers with heavy weights, on the other hand, will most likely go to The Helix Dawn (the firmest mattress in the collection) for proper spinal support.
Lightweight Sleepers – Under 130lbs
There should be a variety of models for light back sleepers. For instance, the Helix Moonlight, Midnight, and Dusk all have lots of spinal support and different levels of pressure relief to accommodate various sleeping styles.
Similarly, lightweight side sleepers can select from Helix Midnight, Moonlight, or Sunset and should provide adequate pressure relief while allowing users to customize the level of hardness to suit their needs.
Finally, stomach sleepers will find that the Helix Twilight and Dawn as the most supportive.

This is yet another latex-foam choice and the numerous layers of this foam give it a bouncy feel when compared to Helix Sunset. Helix Sunset.
Memory Plus Foam is the main comfort layer in the Helix Midnight, and it provides pressure reduction and body shaping. A layer of transitional high-quality polyfoam is placed beneath that Memory Plus Foam. This layer is quite responsive, which means that the mattress overall responds to pressure more quickly.
The main comfort layer is constructed out of Helix Dynamic Foam, a latex-foam substitute that’s bouncy and responsive. The layer is made composed of Memory Plus Foam sits beneath the Memory Plus Foam layer. (Think about the Dusk’s design as similar to the one from Helix Sunset’s construction. Helix Sunset, but reversed.) Helix Dynamic Foam is placed over Memory Plus Foam to produce a bouncy, responsive surface, while Memory Plus Foam offers pressure relief when sleepers lie down on the mattress.
The Helix Twilight, like the Helix Midnight, has a slow-moving Memory Plus Foam layer above an extremely dense and high-grade polyfoam layer that acts as a transition. Its Memory Plus Foam adds some comfort, but don’t be fooled: this is a firm mattress with little give.

Each Helix mattress provided good edge support across all models. When we sat and slept at the edge of each mattress, we felt secure.
The Helix mattresses are constructed with strong coils and high-density foams, ensuring that they will last for a long period of period of.
There was an off-gassing issue from all six Helix mattresses initially. The issue will be gone in a few days, or perhaps sooner.
We didn’t hear any distinct noise while moving about on one of these mattresses during the time we wrote our review. Since all of them have coils, it’s possible that they’ll begin to make noise over time.
