What is the most suitable type of mattress?

The simple answer is that there’s not one best mattress. Why? Because everyone is different and the best mattress that is right for you will depend on your body type, health and your sleep style. The reason for this is that the differences between different types of mattress are becoming less noticeable. Materials have advanced so much in the past five years that it’s hard to detect any noticeable difference when you’re sleeping on mattresses.

This is a good thing for you: it means you should be able pick any of the choices from our top mattress guide and be extremely content no matter if it’s constructed from copper-infused memory foam, coils, cooling latex, or a cutting-edge combination of all-natural materials.

It is beneficial to understand what each mattress type is prior to making your final choice. With that in mind, here’s a look at the most popular options, while highlighting the main differences between them… Helix Mattress Edge Support

Memory foam mattress

It is the Nectar Memory Foam mattress has three inches of memory foam. Memory foam is an excellent choice for those who want to feel ‘hugged’ with their bed. The material conforms to your body and provides more comfort than springs, and is excellent in absorbing movement. That last benefit alone makes it a great choice for anyone who shares an uneasy bed with a companion (but it’s not the best choice if you prefer some bounce in your mattress – you’ll need an innerspring or a hybrid).

The main benefit of memory foam is the fact that you get sunk into it. This is why it provides above-average cushioning. Similar to any mattress made of all foam this kind of material may be warmer in the night than other options. However, the top memory foam mattresses are now equipped with cooling components that are designed to regulate the temperature of your body while you sleep. Helix Mattress Edge Support

Innerspring mattress

Saatva’s most popular innerspring mattress is the Saatva Classic, is available in three different firmness levels (Image image credit: Saatva) Innerspring mattress use a coil-based support system to offer comfort and stability. The size, quantity and style of the coils vary, and while traditionally innerspring mattresses were constructed with interconnected coils, the term is now used for mattresses made of pocket springs.

They have individually wrapped coils that are placed in their own pockets and move in a way that is independent – providing improved pressure relief, more comfort and more effective motion isolation. The more pocket springs you have in your mattress, the better support. It is also possible to make use of one of the top mattress toppers to immediately add an additional layer of support and comfort.

The main difference between all-foam mattresses and innerspring options is that they’re buoyant: you sleep on top of them rather than sinking into them. This is a good thing for sleepers who are hot because it means that your body heat won’t be trapped within the mattress, plus the springs let the air more to move, unlike the dense foam. In addition, they have more bounce than all-foam mattresses and are also less expensive. Helix Mattress Edge Support

Hybrid mattresses

Hybrids, such as Dreamcloud provide the ideal of both worlds. you benefit from the tailored comfort of memory foam gel or latex and also enjoy the slight bounce and the increased airflow of springs. The coils of hybrid mattresses are typically smaller than the ones in traditional mattresses, and they usually (but never always) have a more slender memory foam layer.

The majority of top mattresses are hybrid. They’re a versatile option that make a good compromise for couples with different sleep preferences, and they’re also a good choice for hot sleepers who appreciate the cushioned feel of foam. Helix Mattress Edge Support

Latex mattresses

Plushbeds is a product made of GOLS organically certified latex that comes from the co-owned farms of the company’s collectives. Latex mattresses are made of a highly durable latex foam made from natural materials, not synthetic substances (which memory foam mattress are made from). If you’re in search of an organic and sustainable mattress, latex is the best mattress material for you.

It’s not as dense like memory foam which makes latex mattresses less susceptible to overheating. Latex is also a great choice for contouring and bounce. Additionally, the superb quality and durability make latex an excellent investment if you want your mattress to really last however, it’s not cheap! Helix Mattress Edge Support

How do I know the correct mattress size?

A good rule of thumb for selecting the right size of mattress is to ensure it’s at least 10cm wider than the tallest person sleeping on it. Width-wise, if you’re sharing the bed, you and your companion should be able to lay your hands on your head without your elbows touching. If you’re sleeping on your own then you’ll have the proper size mattress if it’s possible to place your hands underneath your head and not touch the edge of your mattress. So measure that distance and when you pick the mattress that’s larger than this, you’ll be fine.

Most of the options listed in our best mattress reviews are in twin twin XL, full queen, king and California King sizes. Some come in split options as well, which allows the user to select an alternative mattress firmness for your partner. There are mattresses with a different level of firmness for each side (soft to one, hard and firm on the contrary).

In general, the larger or deeper the mattress the more expensive. Most twin mattresses are priced just a few hundred dollars more than queen-sized, in contrast, the king size and California King sizes typically cost around $200 more than the queen size. Hybrid mattresses, luxury , and premier versions generally cost a lot more than the standard or original mattress costs which are listed.

How do I know the correct mattress firmness?

Medium firm is consistently the most requested mattress and that’s the reason why most top mattresses fall in the range of 7 to 10 on the scale of firmness (10 is the level of firmness).

But mattresses are also subjective. The firmness and comfort of a mattress is determined by a wide range of factors, including your weight of your body, your height, body shape and sleeping style, temperature, and whether you experience any pain, such as hips or back. This means that one person’s experience with a mattress is likely to be completely different to that of a different person. Also, whether you prefer a softer or firmer mattress will be dependent on your personal preference.

(That’s the reason we have many different individuals to test our mattresses – and that’s why we look through thousands of reviews by users. Be aware of this when looking at our ‘firmness gauge’, which ranges from 1 to 10, with 10 being the firmest . You might find a mattress slightly firmer or softer than what we’ve observed.) Nevertheless, there is general advice to consider which level of mattress firmness might be best-suited to…

1. Take note of your preferred position for sleeping. Back sleepers typically prefer a mattress that is medium-firm. This provides the best of both worlds, providing neutral spine alignment , while also supporting the hips and shoulders and shoulders, but not putting too excessive pressure on them. If the mattress feels too firm, back sleepers may find their spine forming an uncomfortable ‘U’ shape and this can cause strain. If it’s too hard the natural curve of ‘S’ of your spine may not be supported properly.

Side sleepers require good pressure relief on their hips and shoulders, and for their body contours to be supported. A medium to medium-soft mattress is usually the best choice. If it’s too soft, though it’s not aligning the spine correctly with shoulders and hips. Memory foam is often the most suitable mattress option for those who sleep on their sides because of its superior characteristics for contouring.

People who sleep on their sides tend to do better when they sleep on a mattress with more firmness. This assists in lifting the hips so that they are in alignment with the spine, and stops the spine from developing an ‘U. If it’s too firm it can be uncomfortable especially for women. It can hinder the spine from being able to curve naturally. Too soft and it can feel almost suffocating. Hybrid and innerspring mattresses may be a better choice over foam for those who sleep on their fronts.

Sleepers who are a combination should select according to their dominant sleeping position (the position you normally rest in). If you don’t already have one, a mattress that is medium firm will dish out the best comfort and support across all sleeping positions.

2. Take into consideration your body weight. lighter sleepers that weigh less than 130lbs don’t sink as far into a mattress and can be a good fit for softer mattresses due to this. They’re between 2 and 4 on the scale of firmness. But a mattress that is medium-firm is also a good option.

The 130-230 pound range of people are generally better suited to medium and medium-firm mattresses, between 7 and 7 on the firmness scale.

Sleepers with a heavier weight of over the 230lbs mark can benefit from more firm mattresses, with an 8-10 rating, which stops them from sinking into the different comfort levels.

3. Use the risk-free sleep trial It could take as long as three weeks for your body’s body to adjust to a new mattress. This is especially true if your old mattress wasn’t supporting you properly, so don’t assume that if you first get sore when you wake up, it’s because a new mattress is wrong – it could be your body adjusting to greater support. The majority of mattress tests require a minimum of 21 days for exactly this reason.

Apart from how a mattress feels, there’s also a simple method you can employ to determine if it’s the right firmness for your needs. Lie down and place your hands in the small of your back. If there’s a huge gap, it’s not firm enough and if there’s not a gap, then the mattress is too soft.

How long does it take to break in a new mattress?

It’s dependent on the type of mattress you’re buying and the firmness of it, but generally speaking it can take anywhere between 30 and 3 months to adjust to the new levels of support and comfort. This is why some mattress manufacturers will require that you sleep on your new mattress for at least 30 days before they’ll make arrangements for a return if you still don’t like the mattress.

If you’re considering a different type of mattress to the one you have previously owned – for instance, you previously slept on a foam mattress but you want to buy a hybrid mattress – you’ll notice the difference for a little longer. To make it easier to get used to your mattress make sure you give it time to fully decompress. If you can do this, your mattress will be able to give the best support and comfort right from the start. It could take from a few hours to 72 hours for this process to take place, so be patient.

Relax on different parts of your new mattress (so don’t sit in the same spot) and then continue sleeping on it to help it “bed in” faster. Be sure to avoid sleeping in a different bed (if you already have the option)) or on your sofa, because the faster you break in your new mattress, the faster you’ll be enjoying every single moment of sleeping on it.

What’s the most comfortable mattress for 2021?

We still think the Nectar Memory Foam is the most comfortable mattress available because it’s a fantastic value for the money. It’s comfortable and supportive, and extremely competitively priced. A queen size usually costs $799, a decrease from $1,198 – and all sizes are sold at Nectar with a recurring $400 discount plus $399-worth of accessories for free. It’s an incredible deal for the price. But the Nectar Memory Foam also comes with a huge 365-night trial and a forever warranty, and the returns policy is straightforward and fair.

In addition, if you have some extra money, or prefer a mattress with a little more bounce, we’d recommend the luxury internalspring hybrid Saatva Classic mattress. It costs around $1,300 for a queen bed – although typically, there’s a discount of $200 to be had If you’re looking to get the best hotel comfort it’s the mattress for you. It’s also been approved from the American Chiropractic Association, making it an ideal option if you suffer from back pain.

Another perk to buying from Saatva is Saatva’s free White Glove delivery service. It’s a part of the service Saatva’s team of experts will help you set up your new mattress in the preferred bedroom and then take away your old mattress if they have it ready in advance.

So if you want the most value for your price, go for the Nectar. If you’re looking to indulge in a luxury hotel and have money to spend, then give the Saatva a whirl. Helix Mattress Edge Support

When you consider this truth, Helix mattress appears to be the only reasonable alternative. It is a mattress that is made specifically for you and your partner, to match your needs and to guarantee that you and your partner have fantastic satiating sleep every night. Helix Mattress Edge Support

This Sleep Quiz takes two to three minutes. Helix deals with sleep as science and the bed mattress as a piece of development, which is not extremely different from how contending brands like Casper, Leesa, Purple or Nectar approach their own bed mattress. As soon as the test is taken, Helix sleep professionals and engineers work on the design, product and every physical attribute of the mattress that will fit the needs of the specific individual or couple who had actually taken the test. This process is called the Helix Sleep System by the company. The business takes a few days to design and manufacture the individualized Helix bed mattress. Attributes of Helix Mattress

The most notable attribute of Helix mattress is its ability to truly comprehend the sleeper. The test helps at the same time. There is the normal protector for the bed mattress to avert wear & tear and to protect the mattress from spills and dirt. The customization is really beneficial because the designers, sleep specialists and engineers do not simply create standard functions across the entire mattress when there is a couple with various choices. They create unique qualities for each half or side of the mattress. This takes care of the needs of a couple that has different sleeping patterns, postures and preferences or requirements.

The most precious benefit of Helix bed mattress is that one can actually get rid of all the sleeping problems that one has been living with over the years. It needs to be kept in mind that the majority of sleeping problems for healthy individuals occur from some quality or the other of the bed or the bed mattress. People who need softer bed mattress will have neck and back pain if they sleep on a firmer mattress. Individuals who have hypertension may not discover it extremely comfy with memory foam mattress but can constantly go with memory foal gel bed mattress with huge cells that would not trap the body heat and assist in a cooler sleep. When one takes the quiz and reveals every requirement, chances are very high that the Helix mattress will be precisely what the individual needs and for this reason the possibilities of neck and back pain, sprain, knee discomfort or any type of pain in any joint will be seriously reduced. Helix Mattress Edge Support

Helix Mattress Vs Competitors

As you check out Helix evaluations, a couple of realities will emerge in no time. Helix bed mattress is costlier than most other mattresses. This is easy to understand offered it is customized. A lot of other brand names do not make customized bed mattress. The service warranty and lifespan or resilience of Helix bed mattress might be much better. At the end of the day, the design and engineering of the bed mattress will be inning accordance with exactly what you reveal so your options are the secret.

It is difficult to compare Helix mattress with its competitors such as Casper, Leesa or Purple because they are standard and Helix is a personalized mattress. Helix is thinner than most mattresses at ten inches. That is a basic function. It will have 4 layers, which is basically what most other brands choose. Rather of memory foam, Helix bed mattress has micro-coils. There are 2 more layers of poly foam and base foam respectively. The upper layer is vibrant foam. The top layer is 2 inches, so is the third layer which is of poly foam. Base foam is 4 inches and the 2nd layer from top is a little more than 2 inches.

The most notable highlight of Helix Vs Casper is the price. Every size has a rate difference of $50 to $100. Examining Helix Vs Leesa will lead you to presume that the latter deals better quality sleep however it is less durable than the former. Helix Vs Purple will draw you to the upper cover of the latter that is much more comfortable but the previous has the power of customization. Customization will always weigh heavy in favor of Helix bed mattress reviews.

Helix Mattress Vs Nectar Mattress

Nectar bed mattress is mild yet firm, it has a combined cover of cotton and tencel, the thickness is eleven inches and it weighs anywhere from 45 lbs to 89 pounds depending on the size. Helix Mattress Firmness and Feel

You might have noticed that stiffness was already mentioned within this list. This is because one of the most important aspects to think about when purchasing a new mattress is the firmness (and how firmness affects comfort). These elements will reveal a lot about a mattress’s suitability for your chosen bed position (s). Let’s look at the comfort and firmness of the Helix mattress series.

What Is the Firmness of Helix Mattresses?

The Helix mattresses are available in a wide range of choices, with the softer being moderately soft and the firmest being fairly firm. Helix Sunset Helix Sunset is on the lower end of the scale We gave it a hardness rating of 5.5 /10 on the scale of firmness. (A 6.5/10 would be the industry standard for moderate firmness.) Its Helix Midnight is next, and we gave it a score of 6/10, which means it’s still more soft than the norm. Helix Dusk and the Helix Midnight and Helix Dusk sit somewhere in the middle of the spectrum. Both mattresses received a rating of around 7/10 which is slightly more firm than the average. Helix Twilight and the Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn are at the firmer side of the spectrum, with both getting the 7.5/10 assessment (firmer than average).

It’s crucial to keep in mind that the level of hardness is a matter of personal preference. In terms of firmness, you may assess these mattresses differently based on your body weight and personal preferences. People who are heavier, for instance might find them firmer since they can press further into the mattress to get to the support layers. However, those who are lighter may be surprised to find these mattresses less firm due to the fact that they are located higher in the comfort layer of each bed(s).

Sleeping on the Helix Mattresses

We slept on the Helix beds for an long period of time in order to gain an idea of the experience it’s like to lie on the models in various positions. Check out what we found!

Helix Sunset Mattress

Helix Mattress Edge SupportDue to its softness, the Helix Sunset didn’t feel nearly supportive enough for back sleeping. Our hips sank a little too deeply down into our mattress causing the spine to shift.

The Helix Sunset’s softness isn’t the best for back sleepers, it’s ideal for side sleepers. We were really at ease in this position due to the mattress’s softness cushioned any tension points in the hip and shoulder. In fact, it’s one of the best mattresses to relieve hip discomfort we’ve seen.

It is apparent that the Helix Sunset is not supportive enough for stomach sleeping because of its softness. Our hips were too deep into the mattress which pulled our spinal column out of its alignment, exactly the way they did when were sleeping back to back.

Helix Moonlight Mattress

helix-moonlightWhen reclining in a back position, back sleeping, the Helix Moonlight was adequate but not outstanding. If you plan on sleeping in this position for the entire night, you’ll almost certainly need a more firm mattress that provides extra support and aids in maintaining the proper alignment of your spine.

The Helix Moonlight is an excellent choice for side sleeping due to its softness. We didn’t feel any unwelcome tension around the hip or shoulder.

It is the Helix Moonlight, like the Helix Sunset, isn’t sufficient for stomach sleep. Our hips fell too deeply to the bed, which caused the spine to shift.

Helix Midnight Mattress

Helix Midnight Luxe FeatureWhen we lay down on the Helix Midnight and feeling fantastic, we were able to feel great. We felt a little pressure alleviation without sacrificing spinal alignment , thanks to the mattress’s good balance of support and comfort. It’s the best mattress for those who sleep on their backs on this list.

Even though the Helix Midnight mattress is firmer than Helix Sunset and Moonlight, it is still a good mattress. Helix Sunset or Moonlight We found it pleasant to sleep on our sides on the mattress. It provides adequate pressure alleviation between the hip and shoulder in our opinion.

As we lay on our stomachs in the Helix Midnight, we were well, but not super. People who sleep in this position all night should look for an extra firm mattress that offers more spinal support.

Helix Dusk Mattress

helix-duskIt’s the Helix Dusk is more supportive than the other models we’ve tested, which may explain why we felt so good while resting on our backs. We’re sure that we’ll be able to maintain proper spinal alignment all night because of the mattress’s suppleness.

It’s likely not a surprise that the Helix Dusk feels a little too firm for a side sleeper considering that we’ve moved to the more firm end on the scale. There was some discomfort around the hip and shoulder that would cause significant discomfort if you sleep in this position all night.

The Helix Dusk should suit stomach sleepers with a normal weight, as it should assist them maintain appropriate spine alignment. However, heavier stomach sleepers might not get sufficient support.

Helix Twilight Mattress

helix-twilightThe Helix Twilight was proved to be the greatest bed for back pain. It is ideal for those who require additional support owing to weight gain back pain, other reasons. The more firm construction of this mattress aids in keeping hips lifted and in alignment in alignment with spine.

Since this mattress Helix Twilight is more firm than the average mattress, we found it difficult to lie on our backs on the mattress. We felt like we were suffocated on the hips and shoulders.

Most stomach sleepers should find the Helix Twilight to be a great one, as the mattress’s firmness should give enough spinal support in this position.

Helix Dawn Mattress

helix-dawnBack sleepers who like an extra firm mattress will love the Helix Dawn’s superior level of support. But, those who want some pressure relief when lying back could find this mattress too firm.

The Helix Dawn is far too hard for side sleeping, and you’ll end up with lots of pressure points around your shoulder and hip. One of the softer types will be considerably better for sleepers who prefer side sleeping.

It is the Helix Dawn is the most comfortable mattress for stomach sleepers in our opinions. Through the night, this firm and supportive mattress helps keep the hips elevated and aligned in alignment with your spine.

What Do the Helix Mattresses Feel Like?

Helix mattresses are all hybrid design that incorporates foam over coils. Despite these similarities every model has its own distinct personality.

The Helix Sunset offers a soft top with a balanced foam feel. The comfort layer’s plushness encourages sleepers to feel comfortable and provides the mattress with an elongated feel.

It is worth noting that the Helix Moonlight, despite its softness, has a bouncy sensation, especially when contrasted to the Sunset that is more sensitive.

The Helix Midnight is, just like Helix Sunset, like Helix Sunset, offers an even feel and smooth top layer that moves slowly. The Midnight is more firm than the Sunset and allows sleepers to sink further in the upper layer.

The Helix Dusk is solid and bouncey. This is due to the use high-performance foam for the layer on top, and coils in the support layer.

It is similar to the Helix Twilight, like the Helix Sunset and Midnight, features a slower-moving top. It’s still a solid mattress, even though the comfort layer is slightly more comfortable.

Helix Dawn, like the Helix Dawn, like the Helix Dusk, has a soft, firm and bouncy feel it because of the use of foam that is dynamic (in the cushion layer) and coils (in the support layer).

Average Weight Sleepers – 130 lbs – 230 lbs

Helix Midnight (which is a combination of pressure reduction and spinal support) or the Helix Midnight (which combines spinal support and pressure reduction) or Helix Dusk (which combines pressure reduction and spinal support) or Helix Dusk are likely to be preferred by average-weight back sleepers (which provides a more firmer spine support).

Sleeping on the Helix Late at Night (if you prefer a more firm feeling) or the more comfortable and more pressure-reducing Helix Moonlight (or Sunset) is the most likely option for people who are average-weight side sleepers.

The stomach sleepers who are of moderate weight should consider the supportive Helix Twilight or Dawn.

Heavyweight Sleepers – Over 230lbs

The Helix Dusk should provide appropriate support for those who are heavy-weight back sleepers because it eases tension while ensuring the alignment of the spine.

The most comfortable models within the Helix range, like Helix Moonlight or Helix Moonlight or Helix Sunset will provide enough pressure relief for heavyweight side sleepers.

Heavyweight stomach sleepers however, will most likely go towards the Helix Dawn (the firmest mattress of the range) for proper spinal support.

Lightweight Sleepers – Under 130lbs

There ought to be a range of types available for lightweight back sleepers: The Helix Moonlight, Midnight, and Dusk all have lots of support for the spine and various levels of pressure relief to accommodate different sleeping styles.

In the same way, side sleepers who are light can select from Helix Midnight, Moonlight, or Sunset that should all give adequate pressure relief and allow users to adjust the level of hardness according to their needs.

Finally stomach sleepers will discover the Helix Twilight and Dawn as the most supportive.

Helix Mattresses Construction

In terms of construction, all of Helix mattresses are constructed in the same way. Helix mattresses are built in the same way. They share the same cover and the foam comfort layers are layered above individual supports for coils.

The majority of Helix mattresses, and in particular they have a SoftTouch Design cover that is flexible, soft and air-tight. This allows air to flow freely across the top of the mattress. In addition, every Helix model has a support layer made up of individually wrapped coils that are stacked on top of a base foam with a high density that gives the mattress the overall shape and stability.

The similarities end there for the most part. The comfort layers of these mattresses vary in thickness, stiffness, arrangement and the types of foam. Other materials are offered on certain versions. Let’s take a closer look!.

Helix Sunset

The comfort layer of the Helix Sunset is made up of pressure-reducing Memory Plus Foam, which gives you the slow-moving feeling which memory foam has become famous for. A layer of transition made up of Helix Dynamic foam, a foam made of latex that’s more firm, bouncier and more supportive, is placed under that Memory Plus Foam.

Helix Moonlight

While the Helix Sunset’s comfort layer is made from Memory Plus Foam, the Helix Midnight’s primary comfort layer and transition layer are made from the Helix Dynamic Foam. This is another latex-foam option with multiple layers of this dynamic foam give it a bouncy feel when compared to Helix Sunset. Helix Sunset.

Helix Midnight

Memory Plus Foam is the main comfort layer in the Helix Midnight, and it offers pressure reduction as well as body shaping. A transition layer of thick, high-grade polyfoam sits beneath it. Memory Plus Foam. This layer is very responsive, which means that the mattress as a whole responds more quickly to pressure.

Helix Dusk

The main comfort layer is made out of Helix Dynamic Foam, a foam substitute made of latex that is bouncy and receptive. The layer is made of Memory Plus Foam sits beneath this layer. (Think about the Dusk’s structure as being identical to that from the Helix Sunset, but reversed.) Helix Dynamic Foam is layered over Memory Plus Foam to create a lively, responsive surface, while Memory Plus Foam provides pressure relief as sleepers sink deeper into the mattress.

Helix Twilight

The Helix Twilight, like the Helix Midnight, has a slow-moving Memory Plus Foam layer above a dense, high-grade polyfoam layer that acts as a transition. This Memory Plus Foam adds some ease of use, but don’t be fooled: this is an extremely firm mattress that has very little give.

Helix Dawn

Not to be left out last but not least, the Helix Dawn features an Helix dynamic foam comfort layer layered over a dense, high-grade polyfoam layer transition layer. This creates a firm, bouncy, and comfortable sleep surface with very little bounce.
