Purple Hybrid mattress firmness & Feel
Purple Hybrid mattress are soft and comfortable, no matter what model you purchase. The purple squares can be felt under your fingertips if you move your hand along the mattress’s center.
It’s not super noticeable when you’re laying down, it just feels buoyant like you’re floating on your back or laying on a hammock. Though, it’s also really supportive because of the thick layer of pocketed coils, which I’ll explain more below.
Purple Hybrid 2 feels simultaneously supportive and pressure-relieving. However, it has a slightly firmer profile. The soft squares don’t push into your hips and shoulders when you’re on your side like your typical firm bed, but my back and spine feel very reinforced above the bed’s Hyper-Elastic Polymer layer. I like it a bit more firm than the Original Purple.

Purple Hybrids come in three versions, each with a different layer of Purple Grid gel.
The Purple Hybrid’s four layers are approximately 11 inches in height and has four layers. Here is a basic breakdown of the layers in the Purple Hybrid so that you can get an understanding of what makes Purple, Purple.
A thin layer of basic foam, about one-inch thick, that supports the thick pocketed coil layers above.
The mattress is made up of thick pockets of coils measuring 7.5 inches in diameter, each wrapped in fabric to limit movement transfer. This is the reason this mattress is so supportive.
A thin, half-inch of foam is used to neutralize the sensation of the bed’s foundation.
The Hyper-Elastic polymer of the brand is 2 inches thick. It’s laid out in a grid structure. This is the main layer that differentiates it from the Purple Hybrid mattress. Each mattress has a different thickness. It’s soft, bouncy, and provides most Purple Hybrid’s comfort.
Surrounding the edges are dense foam slabs to make the sides feel more supportive and sturdy.

Purple Hybrid Premier mattress layers
Two Purple Hybrid Premier mattresses are the best-selling mattress options. Only the top layers make up the main difference in construction.
Purple 3 has a layer 3 in. of Hyper-Elastic Polymer at top; Purple 4 has 4 in.

Motion isolation
Motion isolation isn’t usually an innerspring bed’s forte, but with the pocketed coils and special material you find in the Purple Hybrid, it’s a different story.
I think it’s pretty good at isolating motion, even if it is a super-bouncy bed.

Purple Hybrid mattresses have firm foam at the edges that will hold you up if your body tends to lean towards the sides of the bed.

Temperature
The other benefit of the Purple Grid besides bouncy comfort would have to be its temperature-regulating abilities. It’s not designed with any fancy cooling material, but instead, the Purple Grid’s natural breathable design makes it one of the best mattresses for allowing airflow.
