Purple Hybrid mattress offers the same Purple feel as its predecessor, but is more durable and supports your body. Full Purple Mattress
The Purple Hybrid mattress is made by the same company that created Hyper-Elastic Polymer, the original Purple bed and the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 and 4. Purple actually offers three hybrid beds: the Purple Hybrid and the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 & 4. Below, I’ll discuss the many reasons why you might want one or the other. And if the price is right for you. Continue reading to learn if a Purple Hybrid is right for your needs.
Purple Hybrid is also known as Purple 2 and is 11 inches thick. It’s firmer than the other models and is suitable for stomach and back sleepers. With that said, it’s the most affordable Purple Hybrid mattress.
The Purple Hybrid Premier, formerly known as Purple 3, is 12 inches thick with a thicker Hyper-Elastic Polymer comfort layer. This makes it feel a touch softer and it is around a medium-firm. Full Purple Mattress
The Purple Hybrid Premier 4 is the most expensive of the Purple hybrid beds, but it’s a whopping 13 inches thick and is extra supportive. It has a medium-firm profile and would be suitable for all body types, just like the Purple Hybrid Premier 3.
Purple Hybrid Mattress Video Review
Purple Hybrid beds have purple details, which is great for those who love the color. Its premium appearance is due to the high-quality cover. What does the Purple feel like?
It is completely different from Grandma’s innerspring mattress, I’ll be honest. It’s an innovative concept for a mattress that I think worked in the company’s favor. Full Purple Mattress
Purple Hybrid mattress firmness/feel
Regardless of the model you get, the Purple Hybrid mattresses are soft and airy without feeling like foam. Feel the squishy, squared shapes underneath the mattress by running your fingers along its center.
It is not noticeable when you lay down. You just feel like you’re floating over your back or on a hammock. The thick layer pocketsed coils make it really supportive, which I’ll explain below.
The Purple Hybrid 2 simultaneously feels supportive and pressure-relieving, but it also has a slightly firmer profile. It’s 7/10 on the firmness scale. The soft squares of the Purple Hybrid 2 don’t push against your hips and shoulders like a regular firm bed. However, I feel my back and spine are reinforced by Hyper-ElasticPolymer. I like it a bit more firm than the Original Purple.
You might be interested in the Purple Hybrid, but aren’t ready to try out new bedding options. It might appeal to you if the mattress feels like it is releasing pressure from your hips, shoulders, back and making you feel lighter. Full Purple Mattress
Purple Hybrid Premier
The brand’s two highest-level hybrid beds feature the same Purple feel. However, they have a slightly softer profile due to thicker layers made of Hyper-Elastic Pomer.
I think they both land in between a medium to medium-firm, or around a 6 on the firmness scale. Full Purple Mattress
Purple Hybrid mattress construction
The Purple Hybrid is four layers thick and around 11 inches tall. This is a quick breakdown of the layers of the Purple Hybrid to give you an idea of what makes Purple, Purple.
A thin layer of basic foam, about one-inch thick, that supports the thick pocketed coil layers above.
A thick system containing 7.5-inch coils in pockets, each individually wrapped with fabric to prevent motion transfer. It’s what makes this mattress so supportive.
A thin layer of foam about a quarter inch thick to neutralize the effect of the mattress’s foundation.
The Hyper-Elastic polymer of the brand is 2 inches thick. It’s laid out in a grid structure. This is the layer that makes it different from the Purple Hybrids. Each mattress has an individual thickness. It’s bouncy, squishy, soft and provides most of the Purple’s comfort.
To give the sides more support and stability, dense foam slabs are placed around the edges.
On top is the Purple’s “StretchMax” cover, and just like the name implies, it’s extra-stretchy. It feels more breathable than traditional mattress covers. I compare it to an athletic antisweat top rather than a soft cotton one. Full Purple Mattress
Purple Hybrid Premier mattress layers
The two Purple Hybrid Premier beds are the top-tier mattress options from the brand. The only difference in construction is the top layers.
Purple 3 has 3″ of Hyper-Elastic polymer at the top and Purple 4 has 4″.
Although they feel the same, it does not make a big difference in their feel. Full Purple Mattress
Motion isolation isn’t something innerspring beds are good at. But with the Purple Hybrid’s pocketsed coils as well as the special material inside, it’s an entirely different story.
It’s quite good at isolating movements, even though the bed is super-bouncy.
It almost makes no sound, so you’ll barely be able notice your partner’s movements on the other. Full Purple Mattress
The Purple Hybrid mattresses are constructed with firm foam around the edges to hold your body up more firmly if you tend to creep towards the side of the bed during the night.
This mattress has edge support capabilities that I am happy to give two thumbs up.
The other benefit of the Purple Grid besides bouncy comfort would have to be its temperature-regulating abilities. The Purple Grid is not made with any cooling material. Instead, its natural, breathable design makes it one the best mattresses for allowing airflow.
It doesn’t retain heat as memory foam and poly foam might. This makes it attractive to hot sleepers such as me, who require additional cooling. The Purple is not cold to my skin, but it doesn’t make me feel hot. Full Purple Mattress
Purple Hybrid’s ideal sleeping positions and body types
You wouldn’t be able to wear every shirt in your favorite clothing store. The same goes for mattresses.
This is especially true since there are so numerous options. Your body type and preferred position are the most important factors in choosing the right mattress. Full Purple Mattress
Side, stomach, back, or a combination thereof are the primary sleeping positions. Purple Hybrids will be most suitable for stomach and back sleepers.
If you’re a side-sleeper and really want the Purple Hybrid I’d recommend one of the Purple Premier beds. These mattresses are softer than the standard hybrid model and will provide more relief for your shoulders and sides. Full Purple Mattress
Regardless of your body type, whether you weigh 105 pounds or 250 pounds, I think the Purple Hybrid beds will be perfectly suitable for you.
Purple Hybrid mattresses can be used by all body types as they are more supportive of traditional foam beds like Casper or Nectar. They are made with steel pocketed coils that sit on top of the mattress. This makes them more durable than traditional foam beds. Over the next 10 years, you will see a significant difference in how this mattress holds up to time compared with an all-foam mattress. Full Purple Mattress
The Purple Hybrid bed is more expensive than the original Purple. This is not a good option for those who want to spend as little money as possible on a new mattress. It’s possible that you will see the Purple Hybrid as a reasonable cost if you are looking to make an investment in your sleep.
Purple Hybrid mattresses can be purchased in sizes from twinXL to California queen. The prices start at $1,299, and can go up to $1,899. The bed is not usually discounted, but there may be a promotion for free sheets or pillows.
Purple Hybrid mattress features metal coils wrapped in foam to provide support and softness.
